Excellent performance, granted against a side that will probably be this years whipping boys but regardless it was a very good team performance. 3 massive positives and a couple of negatives:-

- Gibbs-White is sheer class, destined for much better things and we have to just enjoy him for the season he is here. Superb technique and vision and someone with the engine to rival Ayew.

- Guehi is a colossus, I can’t imagine his future lies with Chelsea so would love us to try and get him full time. Not only is he rock solid and 100% committed, his ability to step up into midfield when we are on the front foot is a huge plus with the way we play.

- Bidwell has to be most improved player I’ve seen at Swansea for a long time, who for the first half of last season I thought was average at best. Moving to a wing back has proven inspired, his cross for the opener was sublime.

Now I don’t like to do this after such a good away win, but the two negatives that stand out:-

- Korey Smith was largely anonymous. I had to double check he was definitely in the line up halfway though the first half. He clearly kept our shape but that’s about all I can say as he didn’t seem to influence or even touch the ball. But in his defence in that first half we were playing in their third of the pitch a lot of the time and he did come into it a little more as they came more into the game at the back end of the match.

- Jamal Lowe is a good investment in terms of talent to cost ratio, but he is a square peg in a round hole currently, and I fear he will remain so. Seems odd to say it after scoring his first league goal, but he is no striker, he is clearly more suited to being a winger. If we do end up bringing in a striker then I feel he has to be the one to make way, and can’t see him being too happy being a bench player. I hope I’m wrong but I have a feeling it’s more a case of the right player at the wrong time for us.

All in all however it was a great team performance with a smattering of individual excellence. Just a couple of things to improve on but I’m sure we are working on it behind the scenes.

Onto Millwall.

Eh!
We were outstanding for 25 minutes then it was the same old same old.
Gibbs-White was excellent for a bit and shocking for a bit.
How many times does Lowe need a chance to score ... to score.
Bidwell and Roberts deserve praise along with eh back 3 but Wickham are far and away the worst team I have seen in the Championship.
Panicky defence against a side we should not led have eh ball was embarrassing.
On paper and looking at the first 25 minutes we are great ... but the next 70 we were barely on top.
Pleased with the result but another Cooper performance.

Indeed, but I’m laying off him. If they’d nicked one it would have been full panic mode against the crappest team in the championship. But still, a win is a win and I’m pretty happy. Tougher challenges to come than the three we’ve played. Remember this time last year we were certs for auto and Baston and Ayew were going to tear up the league.

Yes, this is me being happy!

Cardiff to lose, the biggest non-brainer ever.

I’ve had it on the radio for about five minutes and all I’ve heard is “Morrison hits it long for Moore”. It’s going to be a long season for any Cardiff fans who are purists if there are any.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

It was controlled defending, as it has been for quite some time. Panic not.

With such a solid, confident back 3 as foundation we are playing some exciting progressive stuff going forward. First half was textbook 352. With this formation we will always have to defend, with teams looking to exploit the perceived opportunity to counter. Our midfield, now with experienced Smith and Grimes sniffing out and protecting is engendering the defensive confidence.

Another very good and encouraging win today so well done Steve Cooper and all of our players. This is the Championship and every win needs to be earned. Especially on someone else’s patch.

And yet some ( yes they are muppets with an agenda ) are still having a dig at our manager. No goals conceded in three games. Seven points. No money to spend but working miracles. 👏

It’s not going to continue and that’ll give the muppets a little bit of ammunition...

Meanwhile enjoy the moment

Chuffed with result and 7/9 points so far is brilliant. We probably won't have a more comfortable win in this division though so there was definitely scope to give Cullen and Peterson more minutes. Difficult for them to get up to speed if we don't give them the chance to do so.

One second you're claiming Cooper has recruited "remarkably well" then the next he's having to make do with wingers as his forward options when he signed two of them for cash fees and gave a new contract to another.

He has. We have changed formations, you seem intent to make silly posts instead of actually thinking about what is being said. Use logic.

Last season we played with wingers, hence why he signed wingers plus the load he inherited considering wingers has always been our way, our team is stacked with them.

Towards the end of the season we changed to 3 at the back with wing backs and this season we have gone more centralised with 2 up front. So the fact we are making do with wingers up front has nothing to do with his recruiting, it’s to do with lack of funds and loan players going back.

His recruiting saw us sign Brewster, Gallagher, Gibbs White, Guehi, Woodman and Lowe. Half our current side, the other half was inherited.

The only player he has signed that doesn’t really fit in our formation is Lowe and he is doing fine as he has pace and energy. He will make a great impact sub or if we alternate back to wingers depending on the striker we manage to bring in (if we do). £800k is a bargain.

As has been said, Routledge was re-signed because he was cheap and better than anything we could pick up on a free plus he’s one for the dressing room to nurture the young players, he’s not a starter. It’s not FIFA you know, these experienced players are vital for a young team, of which we are. If you think we have a strong squad and the envy of the championship you need to give your head a wobble.

I think you need to take your Cooper chip off your shoulder personally.

Hilarious isn’t it.

7 points out of 9, zero goals conceded and we have a panicked defence apparently.

We were rock solid, yes we backed off after 60 odds mins but again we don’t have a very strong squad, we have a strong 11 (of which 2 are playing out of position).

People have it in for Cooper for whatever reason. When we lose it’s all his fault, when we win then we won despite his awfulness. Tiresome.

Trundle doing much the same on sky. And with good reason - if the Americans hey the right man in they’ll recoup all their investors cash if we go up. Looking at the league Brentford aren’t the same side and are Norwich and Bournemouth nailed on? I’m not so sure. Get it right and we go up

Well I had no idea you were accused of that two years ago so logic says there must be something in it if I’m noticing it too.

Hey you ignored the Breonna Taylor reply too. Seems you have a habit of selectively responding.

Totally agree with the OP summary.

I do wish Conner Robs would stop chucking himself on the floor though. There were a couple of times yesterday where he was so dramatic and took so long to get up it messed with the flow of the game.

Got to be happy after that that performance in general 👍

It's far worse than tiresome.

There's a sad twisted agenda of a minority of 3 or 4 sad lost souls, hankering after our glory days. So twp they can't see the bigger picture, and so twp to always slag-off the incumbent manager.

These few twps should always be challenged.

And possibly always named n shamed.........
