10 million to be given by end of year, it will prevent Covid in 90%... is the end in sight?

And a cork up the back end, just in case!

But if she explodes like Henry VIII did you’ll be scraping her off the ceiling for months.

Some reports that the 70% figure is an average of two methods. When administered in double doses the effectiveness appears to be above 90%.

Even if it's not as all protecting as the others it's worth having. If we think of the RNA vaccines as a Ferrari and the Oxford one as a Range Rover, the Ferrari might get further faster but the Range Rover will be cheaper, easier to maintain and far more use in the middle of nowhere.

Certainly much easier-the extreme cold chain needed for the RNA vaccines (RNA is very unstable and easily degraded) may limit the use to centres rather than wider use. Others including inactivated virus and attenuated live vaccines are still in development. I think the Oxford data is a lot more comprehensive than the Pfizer and ModeRNA trials too. The analogy is a good one. If we get 70% protection in 80% of the population we should be able to break transmission cycles.

I stopped reading after stats.Seems they rule your life.Do not let them,Bach.

Stats are there to be interpreted.

How do you make financial decisions in your life, use your emotions?

I assume that you are aware that after attacking the Mail the DOH had to do a climbdown?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ne

On a much more serious note there was a case outlined today where a slightly overweight, but otherwise fit 19 year old wrestler was tested positive on Tuesday after his father & mother tested positive.
He died of multiple organ failure 2 days later, kidneys, lungs and heart.
Even for some youngsters COVID can be devastating.

Can we have your opinion on whether exploding, farting corpses can spread covid?

The pretentious clowns opinion is worth shite , just like the far more qualified medics who have now been proven to be guessers.
If he had anything about him he would not be holed up in a leftist propaganda camp like he his, spouting nonsense.

I don't think it can be spread through bum gas, or we would all be in trouble

Well some viruses can be spread through poo and there is poo matter in bum gas so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that loyals dead farting neighbour could be a superspreader. Maybe this is why Dippy Drakeford doesn’t allow many people at funerals.

Many-Including SARS Cov2. Spreading in flatulent material is pretty unlikely though. Monitoring sewage for the virus is actually a pretty good indicator of it being present and rising in a population. Something likely to be done increasingly to monitor risk.

Do you think there is a case for us to start wearing mandatory bum masks?

Thanks for you wonderful contribution with its sparking wit and repartee. And as usual pronouncements on modern universities with no knowledge of what a modern university is like.

Yes, have spent my days on zoom calls telling students to protest in the street and with my left-wing cabal discussing how we can exert marxist control over NW England.

Whereas the reality is pastoral tutorials to ensure welfare with remote learning. A long meeting over REF outputs for UoA6, followed by a nice chat with a young lead of a SME over the possibility of using his equipment developed for medical research in livestock. A quick chat with a PhD student over how to analyse her histology slides. Quick break for late lunch and a cuppa, then back to determine the ToR for Health and Safety Committee for our new faculty structure.

Third biggest employer in the city, massive industrial engagement and partnerships in research in many areas. Huge facilitation for SME development along with work with big players like Unilever, Astra Zeneca and Du Pont in my faculty alone.

If you can't make a worthwhile contribution (even humour), don"t bother.

Obviously there would be exemptions for those unable to wear their bum masks, like those with a hidden disability or a bum disease.

Actually, with IBS, sometimes a bung, or plug might be a good idea. Hasn't this thread turned to shite!
