10 million to be given by end of year, it will prevent Covid in 90%... is the end in sight?

Muslim German immigrants?

Using those 3 words together is extremely reckless.

One of them is bad enough, but all 3 at once is likely to trigger a complete meltdown amongst some of the posters on here.

I don't see why Trump should have been able to take any credit for the vaccine that would have been totally undeserved.

It received no state funding, wasn't part of operation warp speed and the brains behind biontech are Muslim German immigrants.

Perhaps they just help off announcing to ensure a neutral playing field in the election. An excellent move.

Nothing whatsoever to do with Trump. Combination of the smaller biotech company and Pfizer. Private enterprise, though won’t be massively profitable for Pfizer like Viagra!. The tech using mRNA as the vaccine is pretty revolutionary and offers a lot of scope with other RNA viruses. Hopefully the Oxford vector vaccine works as well. May work far better in combination- can often lead to a bigger and more reactive T cell response

Your hatred of the man colours your posts completely.
Why can't you be more objective?
The FDA were made aware of the imminent production of the vaccine in October, but did not support the President when he stated a vaccine would be available soon.

"“I’ve been in vaccine development for 35 years,” William Gruber, Pfizer’s senior vice president of vaccine clinical research and development, told STAT. “I’ve seen some really good things. This is extraordinary.” He later added: “This really bodes well for us being able to get a handle on the epidemic and get us out of this situation.”
In their announcement of the results, Pfizer and BioNTech revealed a surprise. The companies said they had decided not to conduct the 32-case analysis “after a discussion with the FDA.” Instead, they planned to conduct the analysis after 62 cases. But by the time the plan had been formalized, there had been 94 cases of Covid-19 in the study. It’s not known how many were in the vaccine arm, but it would have to be nine or fewer.

Gruber said that Pfizer and BioNTech had decided in late October that they wanted to drop the 32-case interim analysis. At that time, the companies decided to stop having their lab confirm cases of Covid-19 in the study, instead leaving samples in storage. The FDA was aware of this decision. Discussions between the agency and the companies concluded, and testing began this past Wednesday. When the samples were tested, there were 94 cases of Covid in the trial. The DSMB met on Sunday.

This means that the statistical strength of the result is likely far stronger than was initially expected. It also means that if Pfizer had held to the original plan, the data would likely have been available in October, as its CEO, Albert Bourla, had initially predicted."

It s hard not to hate the man.
It s hard not to hate a sexual predator,a liar, a BSxtter ,a devious chancer and one who uses disharmony in society for political gain.

One who puts himself first everytime

I can see why he is hated . I do myself. I'm pleased I do.I'm worried some people do not.

‘Is the end in sight’ good question

Perchance I am leg end, was a documentary rather than fiction, there are many useful videos on the interweb with survival tips for the potentially ensuing post vaccine zombie apocalypse.

FAO (for the attention of) Neath Jack. This is a post, joking (possibly neither effectively nor appropriately) about the fact that in the science fiction? film ‘I Am Legend’ (not me personally of course, although maybe ;) - that is a wink) a mass vaccination programme turned most of the world’s population into vicious zombies that infected anyone they bit. Ironically the cure was another vaccine. Obviously I sincerely hope this is not the case with the vaccine that is the subject of the OP (opening post), but perhaps a staged implementation plan, to be on the safe side.

Sorry Chad, I have no idea what you are on about.

You'd have to watch the Will Smith film "I am Legend" where a woman finds a cure for cancer ( I think ) but the vaccine causes mutations that changes people into sub human creatures that kill any normal humans they find.

It won't happen...probably

Probably ;) , but we are prepared in Wales after being the location for the start of saving humanity in World War Z.

Eat your heart out Churchill, you were good, but no cigars.

OK perhaps I was wrong about the cigars.

But to all our armed forces past, present and future thank you from the bottom of my heart on this special day.

I’m not big on films, never seen that.

More confusing is why Chaddy directed the post at me 😂

Options are

1. Because your name is an anagram of zombie
2. A beautiful obsession
3. I didn’t

Option 3 is the correct answer

I directed the explanation at you because you said you could not understand a recent post of mine in relation to the Welsh language, so I thought it might be helpful to try and be more explicit in this post. Generally I was just teasing, obviously not very successfully.

Well in the 1920s he invented the the rife machine which emits low-energy electromagnetic waves but this hasn't been proven even after all these years and over the years, a few health clinics that promote Rife-like machines have been sued and convicted of fraud.

In relation the this vaccine does the Welsh NHS come under the British umbrella. I remember when the pandemic first surfaced NHS Wales had to source their own PPE ect.

Well what do you know?
Yet another non anti-viral drug like HCQ stops COVID patients from dying.
This time it is the Arthritis drug called baricitinib, and marketed under the brand name Olumiant.
It reduces deaths in the elderly by 71% by reducing the spread of the virus, especially to the lungs.

Expect the prof to be along any minute to call these doctors lots of bad names as it can't possibly work, because he says so.

Correct, these professionals are not of the preferred variety, they don’t follow the narrative.

It was said by many doctors early on that putting patients on ventilators was causing more deaths than necessary

In all fairness it is a very small study with no control group.

I'd love it to work but there's a long way to go yet.

As I understand this one is the game changer for the UK. We'll have enough to vaccinate the entire population with this vaccine alone and it is easy to store and transport.

If this can reach anywhere near the efficacy of Pfizer and Moderna when results are known we can start thinking about an almost normal summer.
