| Mr Drakeford on 17:43 - Jul 15 by Catullus | Again though, we were discussing Wales and the Senedd, what happens in England where the Senedd has no powers is irrelevant to this conversation. There is plenty to critiise Westminster for but we can do that in a thread about Westminster, this thread is about Drakeford and the Senedd. |
It isn’t irrelevant at all, what’s happening here happens there and it’s linked to policies and decision further up the chain.

| Mr Drakeford on 17:46 - Jul 15 by Catullus | Yeah the stock "Welsh" answer seems to be whataboutthetories....shouted very quickly after any criticism of the Senedd or Drakers. It shouldn't need pointing out that the devolved areas are run by the Senedd so the Senedd is culpable but some will always deflect. |
It's not some but all of them , I've yet to see one post created on here by the likes of Kilkenny cat etc criticising the Senedd when they have failed on what ever topic and there's plenty to choose from, they just pay lip service hoping no one notices the one eyed view they have on how this country is being led

| Mr Drakeford on 16:53 - Jul 15 by johnlangy | And as a result the EU put £375 million in each year to try to address the issues. Then in the 2019 election manifesto the Tories promised that Wales would not lose a penny, that the funding would be matched when we'd left the EU. And what has happened ? One guess. |
Yet again you fail to understand how the EU was funded. The UK was a net contributor to the EU budget . The EU then returned a very small amount of the UK contributions to the poorer UK regions including parts of Wales. Since we left the EU the regional development fund have stopped though some payments for EU schemes already approved continue e.g. heads of the valley scheme. Since 2020 when we left the EU funding to Wales has increased by far more than was lost. This is of course mainly due to the covoid pandemic with increaed NHS costs, vaccines cost, furlough payments etc all funded by t the UK government. This contines even now with extra billions give to cover extra costs of the energy crisis.

That couldn’t be further from the truth , there’s a pub in Llanelli called the Kilkenny Cat , a run down bedecked in the past , with an illusion of future success , remind you of any one ?

IMO it can not be a one fix solution for the whole of Wales, each area has its own problems and needs its own solutions. |
Do you think that the English Govt are doing enough for those Northern towns and cities, deprived and relying on food banks. Have you seen all the new buildings in London? That's where they spend the money mun.

| Mr Drakeford on 15:11 - Jul 15 by Catullus | We're not talking abou England, classic diversionary whataboutery that is. We are talking about what a mess is being made in Wales by a Senedd that lavishes cash on the South east corner and lets most of the rest of Wales stagnate and die. You don't need to be a tory to see it but you do have to take the blinkers off. West Wales relies a lot on tourism but look what the Senedd did, stopped improving roads and yes, tourist tax. |
For gods sake man, have you ever driven in England? I go around the Midlands once very few weeks and the traffic there is far worse than the M4 in South Wales. That's just one area. Wake up ffs. I drove past Worcester on Monday morning, it took me 2 hours to go about 5 miles. It's a normal Monday morning. Droitwich similar. Get a post up about that. [Post edited 16 Jul 2022 0:06]

Have you seen all the new buildings & roads in Cardiff then take a look how the rest of Wales is doing and then come back and comment , you won't though

No I don't think Westminster are doing enough for the towns and cities in the north of England, but that is not an excuse for Wales not to look after their own.

In fairness this is not about England, but the mess the assembly are making of Wales. The money that's being pumped into Cardiff to the detriment of the rest of Wales is shocking. And now they want to add more members to the gravy train.

Those more members you speak about , well we the voters won't have say in who they are , it's just a block vote , Drakeford & co will decide who represents us, so regardless of ability they'll be selected on race & gender , just to how diverse they all are

Yes I have driven in England but again, we are not talking about England, we are talking about what the Senedd is doing in Wales. Onthe 20mph limits, this is from a Natasha Ashgar opinion piece in the WOL, It is no secret that Labour ministers want to see people in Wales riding around in horse-drawn carts instead of modern methods of travel, but this latest scheme really does take the biscuit. By their own admission, this move could have a negative cost of £4.54 billion to the Welsh economy and cost more than £32 million to put in place. If true that is absolutely shocking, the economy will suffer by 4.5 billion, how do they justify that? What about the guaranteed rse in pollution too?

Already seen it and signed it. I am generally pro Senedd, (it does have shortcomings as does Westminster) but I’m of the view this is crackers. There are places where a 20 mph is required, but it’s the exception not the norm.

He brought in the MPU on alcohol in Wales, by sheer lies, apparently it was to stop SUPER strength lager and cider, Nah turns out in Wales, we pay for run of the mill fosters nearly 16 quid for 18 cans, yet England pay 11.. And all the profits go back to the retailer, Thank you so much tortoise chops.

I am about to go on a give up, has it helped me? Not really, thing is they are crooks they brought this in, saying it was all about super strength lager and cider, where in fact, it was nothing of the sort. You know what, I wouldn't even mind so much, if the extra income was going towards alcohol awareness. But it's not, that's how ferkin stupid the senedd are.

Key statement is. "It is expected however that local authorities will be given the final say on whether or not changing to a 20mph speed limit will be beneficial for roads in their area." What is the betting that it is implemented in all areas of Wales except Cardiff.

It'll be implemented in all Plaid and Labour controlled areas. The Independents might get away with it.

Not for a moment saying Jack123 is addicted but in general the cost of an item when you’re addicted is not the main driver when trying to get off the substance . How much is it for a packet of twenty fags then you’ll see my point

Once the legislation s in, it will be hard for local authorise not to introduce it as they’ll be under pressure from every angle to Rio it and no doubt people litigating. Look what’s happening with the way National limits have reduced to 50 on single carriageway roads. Drives me mad.
