Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

If working people have to claim benefits and go to food banks to make ends meet you know the country’s broken. The problem is the ruling party for 12 years doesn’t give a sh*t.

The frightening thing is that they have convinced the masses that they are doing it for their benefit.
I don't think people quite realise how badly off we are and that we are all being conned by the top 1%.
They made made millions during the financial crash and have once again made millions over the pandemic.
People need to start looking up, as those are the ones creating the problems.

Poll: When will Russell Martin no longer be Swansea manager?

Oh I think the masses know who is making the problems. Another problem there is, the politicians (whoever is in power) all keep on looking after the rich.

We passed the point of no return a long while back though, the rich are so powerful if you go after them they just take their money away, take their business and their jobs away. It happened in France when they increased taxes on the rich. many rich French move their money to London.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Correct, if you have enough money a golden visa is available for most countries, it is just as easy to relocate a business. Those who say tax the rich miss this point.
The solution as ever is to grow the economy if you want to increase the tax take in a sustainable way.

Speaking of France, I'm sure i read an article not so long back that stated Wealth inequality today was higher than that at the start of the French revolution.
Im not sure on the exact figures but the top 1% owned around 50% of the worlds wealth and top 10% around 75%.
Maybe we should take inspiration from the French haha

If anyone still believes Drakeford has ever based a decision on data then I've got some magic beans to sell them.

Everything he does, from Covid restrictions to alcohol pricing to speed restrictions is based in Politics. He's a big state Socialist. People should not be allowed to live their own lives and make their own decisions. The Government needs to do it for them. The Plebs can't be trusted. We need more politicians to tell them how to live.

I don't doubt for a split second that there are people in the circles that Drakeford moves in who would happily ban private ownership of cars and property. Get everyone on public transport. Get everyone into public housing. Get everyone dependent upon their incomes from the state (hence the enthusiasm for UBI). We're all far more easily controlled then.

In fairness though, this isn't the case for all on the left. There are plenty of sensible left wingers out there who just want to see things run a bit more "Fairly", and I can respect that, even if I disagree on their definition of fair. There are too many of the wrong kind though.

Often they can be found masquerading as Greens, hoping that there remains a significant proportion of the population who can't tell the difference between Red and Green.

Drakeford is right though. If the plebs are stupid enough to continually vote Labour in, they shouldn't be allowed to make any other decisions.

Sad but true.

He's talking about putting tolls on main roads to get people out of their cars, and also help to pay for better public transport.

He hasn't realised yet that the introduction of the 20mph will make public transport worse as it will take longer to get from A to B. Some routes have a bus every hour and a half because the is only one bus doing the 40 minute run each way. 20mph comes in and the frequency will go out to one bus every 2 hours.

Hardly surprising when Covid and all the other issues such as lack of funding, staff absence re sickness, lack of social care etc are factored in.
The NHS is under huge pressure, staff are leaving in droves and despite Boris’s promises re new staff its not stemming the tide. There a huge shortage in doctors too.

The Welsh NHS was the worst preforming in the UK well before covid.

Boris & Covid are just convenient excuses for the Senedd's mismanagement over many years.

Based on recent experience, the biggest issue with the NHS at present seems to be right on the frontline, from Ambulance to A&E. Once you get past there things seem to ease a little. That and post treatment care.

So, question is, how do you sort that?

There does need to be a huge re-assessment of where the NHS spends its money. Clearly too much is being spent in non essential areas. There also needs to be a re-assessment in who the NHS treats.

There are far, far too many pissed up, drugged up dickheads hanging around your average A&E constituting a significantly higher workrate per person than the poor old biddy sitting there with a heart attack. Simple answer for me is to refuse treatment, but I accept that might be an extreme view.

There does need to be something though. A permanent Police presence at every A&E department with secure custodial rooms perhaps.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Drugs seems to be accepted. Why?
It's not just hooray Henry's now, the ordinary Joe Bloggs seems to think snorting coke is fine.
More undercover cops needed to patrol pubs and nightclubs are desperately needed.
Youngsters slamming shots down them like no tomorrow. Ridiculous.
Young kids 12,13,14 smoking, and going to then smoke for the rest of their lives.
I could go on.

All contribute greatly to the A&E waiting times, and the latter to the NHS waiting times.
Education and Policing could and would help bring numbers down hugely.
But we need funding for it.
Cutting police numbers and sticking a few specials on the street is making things worse.

Not arguing with you about druggies and drunks, they are a nuisance. I was there a few months ago with my kid and I saw 3 “patients/prisoners” being brought in by police over the course of the 10 hours I was there. There were at least 3 cops on each occasion which was probably a big proportion of their staff.

The major issue at hospitals is bed blocking. A&E is the main entry point for a lot of patients who require admission, the lack of ward beds means the A&E patients are stuck in A&E until they can be moved on which then causes the issues with ambulances etc. Most hospitals now have 24/7 site managers, they are senior nurses who’s role it us to try and find beds for patients and move staff around to cover the increasing number of gaps - it’s a stressful job!

We need some establishments where people can recover / wait outside hospital rather than ' bed block '. These used to be called convalescent homes so Drakeford needs to stop wasting money on vanity projects and take over a few big hotels or office blocks and convert them. It would not take much.

The trouble is they're more than a nuisance , they're directly having impact on genuine ,medical emergencies. I was with my son a few years back waiting at Morriston A&E as he had an eye injury ( which later developed him nearly losing the sight in one eye ( Moorfield Hospital in London where we eventually ended up were superb by the way ) , but I digress m we had been waiting a few hours then and two drunken slappers arrived after us with a minor cut to a shin where one had fallen over but made enough fuss and noise that they we in and out in a flash ,we were told because its easier for the staff to have those type seen than to them have hanging around creating havoc , myself I open a large r empty room and lock the door ,then last man/woman standing gets treated but only after everyone else

Drakeford and his labour, and Plaid goons, need to be gone immediately. In fact the whole senedd needs to go.

For me it beggars belief why they would do this.

The way it's going, I think some direct action needs to be taken at the senedd idiotic decision making..

There’s a scam going down by me where drunks get plastered on the seafront then pretend they’re ill.

A well meaning member of the public thinks they’re in trouble an calls an ambulance. The ambulance drives to the hospital (which is in the less salubrious part of town) and on arrival said drunk jumps out the back and heads for home. A free taxi service.

Some nights this happens multiple times.

Drives me nuts.

It's a well known trick, especially in densely populated areas.

Read once about a London ambulance deliberately taking one of these tossers to a hospital about 20 miles away from where they lived.

Brilliant.
