Making nice promises in an election campaign is one thing, actually managing the situation is another.

But not the Finns. Finland is not a Scandinavian country.

Of course Harold Godwinson should be enough to reveal the origins of Saxons

Don't mention the French.

Paul. Not quite right there as it is not a definitive term for Scandi as many argue Finland is on economic and geological grounds. Norden is a more accurate term.

Have a lovely day Sir and keep up the good work

Can we the British blame any slight injustice we may have in this country, on the Scandinavian countries, for what their ancestors did to Britain ?

Maybe we should blame present day Norwegian citizens for what king Harald Hardrada did at Stamford Bridge in 1066.

I'm not in that camp, things that happened hundreds of years back just have to be accepted and put behind us. Things that happened that are still affecting us need to be dealt with.
A lot of migration has been caused by the USA and UK's foreign policies. Not just us of course, many other countries are guilty of such subterfuge.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

That’s why Catt said ‘a lot’ of migration. He didn’t say all.

Apologies for speaking for you Catt but it annoys me when people are critical of things others haven’t said.

What is meant by economic migrants? If their countries economy and infrastructure has been destroyed then they are migrating out of necessity

Economic Migrants are those that want a better life for themselves and their family for whatever reason.
Which is probably the majority of the 3rd world.

A refugee might leave a country because of a war/civil war there or because they are persecuted by the government.

An economic migrant may leave a country because it has already been ruined by war or used and abused by a colonial power (amongst many reasons) and there more than a few places in the world where outside interference has caused economic harm and so people migrate.
For example there are a lot of "Latino's" in the USA and they went there for economic reasons after the USA had interfered in and mde their country worse. Just look at Cuba,, the Spanish/USA war with Cuba gaining independence from Spain but then the USA getting the leader and thus the influence they wanted when Batista took over. Of course that all ended when Castro rose but many Cubans had already gone North and then there were political and economic refugess with Castro in charge. The USa still wanted influvnce though and allegedly, thy tried to assassinate Castro over 600 times. persistent little sods eh.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

A difficult issue, Biden's I'll sort it out approach was electioneering.

Things getting even worse, Biden continues with the Trump policy he said he would overturn and is kicking out people without any hearing as to their status.

To think people thought Biden would be so much better than Trump! Some people thought he would be much worse, some people weren't sure there'd be much difference but this is politics. They say things at the Hustings but then do nothing. Maybe it depends on what their rich donors want? Or is that too cynical.

I suggest that you check some other sources.
There have been many more illegal immigrants crossing that border since Biden originally invited them, over a million this year already.
They are being bussed and flown into the centre of the country.

The media protection ring around Kamala and Biden is amazing.

The situation at the border is horrendous, she is a rabbit in headlights and he doesn’t know what day of the week it is. The previous administration would have been torn to shreds and no doubt the usual lot on here would be posting article after article.

I think after basing a large amount of their campaign on the illegal immigrant crisis they are now realising the Trump administration was right after all, which of course was obvious to even the most dense of people… which is why they had to paint a picture of trying to keep ILLEGAL immigrants out of the country as “racist” as opposed to actually discussing the subject matter.

Fraudulent morons.

That's due to them flooding the border in expectation of getting in. 50,000 were let through the other day on the condition they report to the local immigrant center in the area they choose to settle. Only 13% did.

I think Trump got as much wrong as he got right but I also think Biden is off to a poor start.

Of course withdrawing all the troops from Afghan started with Trump but maybe it's all part of the plan. Let the Taliban take over so we have an excuse for another war in 5 years time? I'm sure Bojo would back whoever is POTUS? Not sure about Starmer.

Politicians, telling us to recycle, be eco friendly, how much pollution does a war create? Then there's the migrant issue, a good war always creates many more migrants. maybe next the USA will start bombing the drug barons of Mexico then invade the place to grab all their money.

Yes, I am being silly.

Its amazing how many people I speak to these days that are now willing to recognise the successes of the Trump administration.

6 months ago the same people wouldn't have had a bar of it.

We didn't hear the end of ''200k deaths on his watch''.... don't hear so much about the 600k+ level it is at now after claiming he would fix it and knew what to do. Funny that.

Just saw this.

“Young woman”? She’s nearly 60

Before the protection ring took hold, Tulsi Gabbard destroyed her and was widely criticised after some revelations about her withholding evidence that would free someone from death row. This was before they coached that mad cackle into her when under pressure, so you can almost see steam coming out of her ears at times.

No wonder she had so little support all her political career before Biden oddly plucked her from the defeated slump she was in.

Has he pulled the wall down that Mexico paid for?

Trump and Harris do nowt for me, but after seeing Trump’s antics around the women’s USA football team, I’m still convinced he’s too decisive to lead a superpower.

” I’m still convinced he’s too decisive to lead a superpower.”

Did you mean to say he was ‘divisive’ there Gwyn or was it a criticism of his unwillingness to compromise?

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.
