| Vaccine passports 22:24 - Sep 3 with 13079 views | Jack123 | Serious question, what the hell is the point in these? Look's like people who have had the vax, can still spread it, so I just why? For me, it's looking more ridiculous each day, when they first mentioned it was at the time when they said the vaccine would stop the spread, but looking at the case numbers the last few weeks, this is clearly not the case, be quite silly not to be allowed to do something when there isn't any difference from someone who has had the jab or not. | Vaccine passports on 23:03 - Sep 8 with 736 views | controversial_jack | Considering we are 80% plus vaccinated, cases don't seem to be coming down, if anything they are getting worse We have some of the highest vaccination rates in Europe yet we currently have higher cases that almost all of them. This cannot be put down purely to the unvaccinated if our vaccination rates are so high | | | |

Over a third of the cases in England today are kids. hardly any of whom are fully vaccinated. We are also testing in enormous numbers compared to most countries.

Testing doesn't mean they are all positive. I believe it's just as easy to get a test in the Netherlands as it is here. Ppl don't go for tests unless they have symptoms. I wonder what the proportion of kids getting infected in other countries is compared to here?

Not at all. Actually the reverse as it’s now proven that double jabbed can still contract , carry and suffer from COVID. Therefore with all double jabbed people wandering around THINKING they’re 100% safe that is the fertile ground where the virus will go on and on being spread - in nightclubs and other indoor events . Anyway the proof of this will become apparent when vax passports come in and there won’t be anyone without the vaccine present. Time will tell.

That's just wrong. Pupils returning to school have all been tested. Twice in many cases. Many jobs require at least twice a week testing. Anyone returing from abroad is tested. We are testing about 1.2 million people a day - most of those are asymptomatic.

Schoolchildren year 7 and up test twice a week whether they have any symptoms or not. Don’t know whether the same in Wales but in England we can pick up tests at supermarkets etc. All free. Loads are testing every week to make sure they don’t spread anything. Before meetings, parties, going to theatre, hotels, whatever. Went to a party two weeks ago where everyone had tested beforehand and no one had any symptoms at all. It’s the way we all end this. No one was asked to btw - it’s just people have started doing it. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yep. I’ve always got a few Lateral Flow tests in case I’m going anywhere which will involve mixing with people. It’s become routine for people now. Really sensible. And a few weeks ago I did have a cold with a cough. So went for a PCR test. Negative, as are most, but again it’s sensible. I’ve no idea why everyone isn’t doing this now. As I say, it’s the way we all carry on with life. That and being vaccinated so if you do get it, it will be less severe.

The University and schools here have been using LFD testing for months to allow people to come into work and students to have vital clinical teaching. We even ran our own PCR test centre for a while last year. Not the world's best diagnostic but will pick up most active infections to allow control through isolation after PCR confirmation-even without symptoms as the viral load is greatest at this stage. It's entirely sensible and easy enough to self-test.

I'll tell you why Lisa;it's because you have accepted these extraordinary times and how covid ha changed our comfortable little lives for all time. We are killing ourselves by stupidity and arrogance;we have people begging for a stop to the covid carnage then when we get a vaccine that CAN help,we have nutters that dismiss itoffereing no alternative whatsoever. I have Ron countless times as to what he would have done and what we should do now. He can't and doesnt answer as there is no answer. We have to trust scientists.Yep,TRUST-it eems we are too cynical these days even in the face of death when it's staring us in te face. Make no mistake, mankind has contributed massively to his own demise. And we haven't wised up even now. THE SKY IS CRYING

Tests are free to pick up for anyone? How do you get the results? How come you can get them for free, but then you have to pay like £60 to get one done if we want to go abroad.

SO if there are tests that show results instantly, what is the point in vaccine passports? Everyone can just take a test at the turnstyle for instance.

It may be slightly different in Wales, but shouldn't be. Are you sure he hasn't had one test? Or has their parents refused it?

The results take about 15 mins. Waiting for 10's of thousands of people to get results would result in chaos. Also I used by vaccine passport to go in to the foals concert. Tests were £20 a go and the queue was huge.

Yes. What do you mean how do you get the results? It tells you when you put the swab into the tester thing. Like a pregnancy test but you swab rather than pee on it. You pay for a PCR test with a certificate. The LFD tests don’t have a certificate, if you test positive you get a PCR test to confirm results. How the hell can people not know this after so long? Tens of thousands of people if not hundreds of thousands are doing these every day.

It is amazing how things like this aren't common knowledge. It's becasue people get all they want to know from social media. They need to know much more!

Well, I know you get results by email with PCR, so it's surprising you can get results instantly. Don't watch the news. How are people like that meant to know about it? I've never heard of a free test that you can get and do on the spot. Sorry about that.

Every kid in Wales as well (secondary school) had to take two tests before returning to school and two every week during term. Same as England. Results are recorded online.

Libraries in Wales plus you can order them. In England it’s pharmacies - any supermarket pharmacy, Boots, Superdrug. I picked up a few in Sainsbury last week.
