75% of 16 /17 year olds have now been vaccinated in Powys.
Dont tell Stumpy, he will have kittens.

OK, but if they are all getting vaccinated, then there will be 100% of them at risk of getting the heart condition.
100% of them aren't going to catch covid.

More children will get coronavirus than a very few who might get minot heart condition. The chances of getting heart conditions is seven times higher after catching coronavirus than the vaccine.

Didn't I read somewhere on here that for 12 years old boys, it's safer to get covid than the vaccine?

Nope. Whilst JCVI did not recommend vaccination on an individual basis there was still a benefit.
The myocarditis risk is much higher from infection. If you have school aged-kids or have a partner working in school you will know have frequent and disruptive Covid is. About 1000 hospitalisations a month in under 18s. Not as trivial as some like to make out.

The role of CMOs is to protect public health- the population. The choice for a single dose minimises the risks of myocarditis whilst in the robust immune system of a teenager a single dose may be more than sufficient to get up to high levels of protection. This is an evidence-based decision- countries like France and the Netherlands are now ahead of the U.K. in vaccination and especially in young people. Here the evidence is supporting a decline in infection rates, especially in younger groups where it is still high in the U.K. The choice of a single dose mitigates against some of JCVI . concerns. It’s evidence-based medicine in action. The correct decision IMO.

Good news that over 12s are going to be offered a single dose of the vaccine.

Just need the unvaccinated 10% of adults, especially in London to get a jab.

Absolutely despicable thing to say, people like you belong in jail.

Hey Prof, our son is 12 and he has a severe nut allergy. We told him we'd talk about the vaccine if the decision was made for 12's to have it.

All I need to know is, which vaccine is safest with a food allergy? We'll be telling him we think he should get jabbed but we won't force him. If he decided he doesn't want to we'll go with it but we will point out the down sides.

We're funny like that, we have involved our son in all big decisions from an early age, as a rrsult he's turningout to be a very responsible kid. He regularly gets good citizen awards in school.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

What a silly thing to say, I've constantly been living my life unlike some on here. None of the government propaganda BS has or will frighten me into being a subservient brainwashed simpleton.

One thing we can agree on though is the truth is coming, sooner than you think and you and the rest of your ilk can feel the fools that you are for taking it hook line and sinker.

In theory all kids will have the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccines. The current MHRA recommendation is that these are safe for people with food allergies, but that those who are deemed anaphylactoid (has previous anaphylactic reactions to medication) are not recommended to get vaccination with these and get the AZ or Janssen vaccines .
Just found this which may help:

https://www.anaphylaxis.org.uk

I would advise you speaking to your GP about any concerns as well.

You do not get a choice, he gets Pfizer and likes it.

You will of course fully inform him of all the side effects that he might suffer from getting the Pfizer vaccine?

It is the anti vaxers that need jail. Vaccines have so far saved an estimated 100,000 lived in the UK and over 500,000 hospitalisation during the pandemic.

It has also allowed the economy and people's lives to get back to normality.

It was a guy on the radio, regardless of who he is there was no "data" to look at and verify.

In other words no actual evidence at all.

There is in the latest ONS data

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplep

Weekly hospitalisation rate of under 14s is in excess of 200. All other groups the rate is declining, but these are the largest non-vaccinated group. This is also just England

Secondary school age children are currently most infected, but no definition of 14-18 hospitalisation only as 14-24, but likely to be forming a large proportion of the 60 or so in this group. Clearly this is going to equate to that 1,000 per month quoted by Professor Young.

Perhaps you should be considering the words of real medical professors rather than ones that tell you what you want to hear?

As a parent of a 15 year old, I can assure you infections a hospitalisations are all too real for schoolchildren now. My wife's primary school has had several pupils hospitalised.

Some guy on the radio is a retired factory worker, a professor of medicine who works on viral pathogenesis (albeit in normal times on the role of infection in oncogenesis) including a funded project on SARS CoV2 spike protein binding, is pretty well qualified to comment. I hope you listened. It was a good clear interview

I think I'll also take the expertise of those in Epidemiology and medical statistics at the PHE to verify data, as you seem only be able to process that which suits your agenda.

Apparently though the ONS make up BS to further government propaganda.

If it was on ilovetrump.com it would be the irrefutable truth.

If I wasn't vaccinated I'd be a very worried man looking at massively increased likelihood of serious illness in those who haven't received the vaccine.

What is patently clear from the ONS data is how the vaccines are preventing serious disease. That kids are bearing the brunt, of what is not as trivial as some suggest, infection of which we have no idea of longer term consequences is somewhat disturbing.
