Owen Beck looks a player. Williams and Cooper been two of our best imo, Boyes has struggled in the air and Bowen's been very sloppy trying to play in a more forward position in midfield (something Mick McCarthy says he has in his locker... don't see it personally).

On another day... Jephcott and Vale both had 1v1s they should have scored. Hughes forced a couple of tidy saves. Beck hit the post. Did seem at times like everyone wanted to play 30 yard crossfield balls to each other instead of showing patience but we did have to try to move them about to give the striker(s) more of a chance. Adams, Pearson and Vale have all had better games than that, and Bowen didn't offer enough in the role he was asked to play.
We looked really poor defending set pieces, only Cooper consistently won his battles in the air (and when he lost usually won a foul in the process), and that cost us a poor goal. Ratcliffe will likely be back in the Welsh leagues before long, their goalkeeper looked twice the player. | | | |

What is the deal with Vaulks then?
Ignored when he was playing well, now he's picked when he and his club are struggling and now he's in the matchday squad at the expense of Smith who always plays well for Wales. Seems strange to me.
And ahead of Levitt who has recently been showing some promise in recent Wales games and doing well on loan. [Post edited 8 Oct 2021 12:59]

Vaulks is Wales 's no 2 long throw specialist. When Bales is available this skill set is not required. The idae that Wales can score from a long throw v Czech is for the fairies. Two big and well organised. | |
