Wales v Belgium: WCQ Matchday Thread 16:49 - Nov 14 with 5363 viewsNotLoyal

It’s the final group game of the group and this game is probably just another meaningless game that means a win or draw means nothing.

It all comes down to Tuesday night for Wales. Surely now it’s time for neutrality? 14th Nov 2021 09:00
After a 5-1 win against group whipping boys Belarus last night Wales now find themselves just one point away from a positive draw in the World Cup play offs in March next year. Bizarrely written off by some as a nothing game Wales went second in their qualification group for Qatar 2022. At the start of this campaign every one would have signed up to this scenario for sure. 0

Gareth Bale out for the start against Belgium 15th Nov 2021 13:54
Wales manager Rob Page has stated that Gareth Blade won’t be selected to start the game against Belgium tomorrow night. He as also said that was the plan all along. 0

Bale out tonight completely. 23 man squad omits Real Madrid forward 16th Nov 2021 15:13
Gareth Bale has failed a complete fitness test in the last hour, after failing other tests today in a desperate attempt to be available for the national side tonight against Belgium. Having suffered injury on a Friday night against Belarus, Bale is to return to his club tomorrow unfit. Another issue for the FAW. 0

Wonderful Wales qualify for the World Cup play offs ! 16th Nov 2021 22:03
Wales 1 Belgium 1 : Wales qualified for the March 2022 World Cup play offs in fine style against the worlds number one side Belgium. Needing a win, or a point on a night that the Czech Republic needed to win and hope Wales slipped up, it was a nail biter at times. The Czech’s won so Wales had to get the draw they needed, and they did. 0

Considering the opposition, that was one of the best games I have seen Wales play, very competitive indeed.
The squad are turning in to a really good side, that doesn't seem to miss Bale much, which is good for the future.

Bale out means we can actually press/defend with 11.

Some of those Belgian youngsters looked a bit dodgy. Probably the last tournament for their "golden generation" before they fade away behind the major nations again.

sadly the format will almost certainly make this a long, glorious failure for us, we are a solid international outfit these days, real moments of quality in many matches, but probably not quite enough to get the run of results we need to qualify. Good to still be in the hat though.

I think we're better without Bale. Specially this last 2 years. When he's there they look for him all the time, even when there's better passes on.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Need to be in a different pool to Italy and Portugal.
Have a chance then.

Russia and Ukraine to be kept apart which is a shame politics should not come into it.

Most one sided ref I have seen in a long time. He will give them the game.
They should have had at least 2 yellow cards.
Morelli didn't make contact but gets booked.
It's a joke.

De Bruyne swaggering around the pitch, does my head in, I know its wrong and unsporting, but I was hoping he'd pull up with an injury just to sour is grinning chops.

No chance, he's come on leaps and bounds, Klopp will want to keep him in the 1st team squad, don't think we can loan two players from same club either.

Thank you.
So everyone in the group plays eachother once?
Where do the two seeded players play if they both qualify for home advantage?

Wales if they beat the second seeded team at home of which they are certainly capable would t still have to beat probably the likes of Poland Italy or Sweden which is not easy. Hopefully someone like Scotland or the Czechs could knock them out.

Play off semi final and possible play off final.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.
