Russia invade Ukraine 14:17 - Dec 23 with 147593 viewsFlynnidine_Zidownes

Discuss.

Also why is Putin always described in the media as this rugged strongman? He’s barely five foot tall with his high heels on.

But that’s another debate.

Any truth in the rumour Vladimir Putin has no willy and is trying to compensate?

He's dead jealous of Swansea because he heard we had a big Willy

I'm amazed that there isn't a photo of it circulating on the Web. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong places.

It’s an incredibly unfortunate happenstance that one of Russia’s flagships has accidentally and innocently caught fire causing it to sink beneath the foamy brine.

A flagship? The Moskva was 45 years old, built in the Cold War. Not exactly the Ark f*cking Royal.

What a glorious echo chamber you have made here. Enjoy it while it lasts……

“The ship was the lead ship of the Project 1164 Atlant class, named after the city of Moscow. The flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, and with a crew of 510, Moskva was considered the most powerful warship in the Black Sea region.”

It was also a ship which had a flag on it.

Which is still less than the USS Missouri was when it was flagship of the USN in the first Gulf War. The same ship on which Japan surrendered in 1945.

Not at all the Ark Royal because it wasn't an aircraft carrier. It did carry modern AA missiles though because, y'know, it wasn't exactly the same ship as when it was launched, it had been refitted several times, modernised, brought up to date.

Maybe you'd better tell Putin the ship they chose as their flagship was a joke?

It was the flag ship of the Black sea fleet.
According to Wiki
They have 5 Fleets.
They have 1 Aircraft Carrier under refit.
They also have 2 Battlecruisers, both much larger than the Moskva.

Admiral Kuzenetsov. Like much of the Russian fleet, it's only carrier is very old and outdated despite refits. Carries useful planes in the Su-33 (updated Flanker) but like much of the Russian military lacks the materiel quality of the US, UK or France.

Yes, according to wiki it is due out of yet another refit in 2023.

yeah I know, it was just Brynnie being Brynnie. The Moskva was the flagship and what that has to do with echo chambers is lost on me.

Maybe Brynnie can explain his point?

It was manufactured in the 80’s - hardly cutting edge technology and certainly not their flagship Cat! That’s the point - the MSM is trumpeting this as a major triumph. It’s a blow losing any ship but this is not going to make hardly any difference to the Russians apart from annoying them further (perhaps not a great idea).

Weeks ago we were told that the Russians were running out of bullets. Now it’s emerging that it’s the Ukrainians who have no arms left (and are begging the US/EU/NATO). Just becarefyl not to swallow all your fed from the MSM - like the 45 minute threat from Iraq which was a made up lie.

Saw the dramatization of that on Monday night, great bit of tv which goes to show how horrible our governments can be.

The flag ship of the first sea lord of the Royal Navy is 224 years old and in dry Dock. Its still a flagship and technically still a commissioned vessel.

It was the flag ship of the black sea fleet, really that just means its the biggest ship in that particular fleet not that it was a state of the art fighting machine. Its its not msm trumpeting this as a major triumph it is a major triumph. Its the biggest warship lost in battle in 40 years, sunk by homemade missiles fired from the shore of a country that the invaders thought they'd have control of by now.

It's humiliating for the Russian navy and Putin. That might not be a good thing in the long run.

If the Russian supply lines were so effective in western Ukraine why have the army buggered off back to easy reach of the motherland? The Ukrainians are pretty open that they are using up the supply of weapons from the west as soon as they arrive.

You don't have to swallow what msm are feeding people, just acknowledge what is happening.

The Royal Navy has a 31 year old ship and the Americans have ships 40 to 50 years of age, in fact they’ve not long put some proposals together to extend the life of a lot of their ships. I’d imagine a lot of the ships that NATO countries were contemplating retiring will be getting and extra lease of life after what’s happened in the last 2 months.

The last B52 bomber rolled off the production line in 1962. The USAF intends to keep using them for another 30 years.

When something was made is irrelevant if it's been maintained and upgraded well enough.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

They went back to the east because that was their original aim. Weapons are not getting through either. Ignore the hype, lies and propaganda, the Ukrainian military in the east is getting hammered. It's short of weapons, has little artillery, not much petrol and it's ammunition dumps have been destroyed by Russian missiles. It's only a matter of time

Why don't you try reading what some real Military think experts who say it was the plan all along instead of western propaganda?
Especially those that understand Russian/USSR military doctrine.
For an army running out of munitions the Ruskies certainly found some to use over the last couple of days.

You know this was Putin's original aim , how , you have a direct link to the Kremlin perhaps ? I suppose it make sense to you that Russia was quite happy to lose equipment & men attacking Kiev etc even though that wasn't in the plan.

Putin's rag a tag and bobtail "army" attacked Kiev because that's where Ukraine's Head of government was and still is located despite Russia's best efforts , he thought by taking out the government then you take control . He over estimated his militaries ability and the fact that Ukrainian's resistance has shown that for all Russia's so called military might it has proven to be pretty poor. bad planning, lack of logistics poor tactics/leadership , fail to plan, plan to fail .
The east may indeed fall, it doesn't take a military genius to work that one out but whilst the resistance there remains then there's hope

Im wondering what some feel when they watch the daily grim news from a once beautiful land.
When they see refugees interviewed,do some perceive them to be fascists/right wing folk who are intimidating Ukraine towns near the border with Russia. The people responsible for this carnage, the people who destroy their own land, likk their own people, rape their own babies, who bear the children of Russian rapist soldiers.

Russia has a long history of utterly ignoring rules of combat and doing what it pleases, then to blame the "west". Our west haters are those who would never set foot in a state like Russia

According to the military experts the Russians did not attack Kiev in the conventional sense. There were no full out attacks.
They threatened Kiev, thus tying up the military there preventing them from reinforcing those in the east. When the Russians had the eastern armies in place they removed the threat from Kiev and moved them to increase the forces in the east.
Why you ask, well there are said to be about 60,000 Ukrainian top soldiers in the east who are now surrounded and cut of from re-supply and re-inforcement.
Are these "experts" right, who knows, but time will tell one way or the other.
There has been massive propaganda about Russian losses, but none about Ukranian military losses, only civillian deaths, why do you think that is?
