Discuss.

Also why is Putin always described in the media as this rugged strongman? He’s barely five foot tall with his high heels on.

But that’s another debate.

It was manufactured in the 80’s - hardly cutting edge technology and certainly not their flagship Cat! That’s the point - the MSM is trumpeting this as a major triumph. It’s a blow losing any ship but this is not going to make hardly any difference to the Russians apart from annoying them further (perhaps not a great idea).

Weeks ago we were told that the Russians were running out of bullets. Now it’s emerging that it’s the Ukrainians who have no arms left (and are begging the US/EU/NATO). Just becarefyl not to swallow all your fed from the MSM - like the 45 minute threat from Iraq which was a made up lie.

Saw the dramatization of that on Monday night, great bit of tv which goes to show how horrible our governments can be.

It was the flagship of their black sea fleet though, described as such by the Russian government. As pointed out to you about the Flagship of the fleet in the Gulf war, when it was built doesn't matter.

Again, as I pointed out, it had been refitted and modernised.

The lies about the Gulf war and the 45 minute threat weren't made up by the MSM, they were made up by a Labour government who fed the story to the MSM.

The Ukrainians have arms left but they need more munitions. Having a top class anti tank weapon is no good if it has no ammo. By the numbers of burnt out Russian armoured vehicles we have seen on tv, its no wonder they have burnt through a lot of munitions.

You know this was Putin's original aim , how , you have a direct link to the Kremlin perhaps ? I suppose it make sense to you that Russia was quite happy to lose equipment & men attacking Kiev etc even though that wasn't in the plan.

Putin's rag a tag and bobtail "army" attacked Kiev because that's where Ukraine's Head of government was and still is located despite Russia's best efforts , he thought by taking out the government then you take control . He over estimated his militaries ability and the fact that Ukrainian's resistance has shown that for all Russia's so called military might it has proven to be pretty poor. bad planning, lack of logistics poor tactics/leadership , fail to plan, plan to fail .
The east may indeed fall, it doesn't take a military genius to work that one out but whilst the resistance there remains then there's hope

Why are you posting Russian propaganda on here?

It's not a special military operation, it's an invasion by an aggressive, anti demcratic country.

What about Russian losses? What about civilian casualties? What about the thousands of civilians trapped in Mariupol that the Russians wont allow to leave?

Stop being Putin's useful idiot.

Civilians are not trapped in Mariupol, the ones trapped there are about a brigade sized military unit including many of the fascist Azov brigade. They are in an industrial area of a few square miles. Their situation is hopeless, they are cut off, and getting shelled at will.but Zelensky has told them not to surrender but fight to the end, which they seem to be doing. The Russian military is sitting back to see what happens to them

Shelling military targets, not exactly an exclusive Russian target is it?They were given the chance to surrender, but Zelensky said no. I believe the Russians are now just trying to starve them out It's the end of the Azov brigade though.

Who says that the Russians won't allow civilians to leave Mariupol?
Do you think that if the Azov brigade had surrendered that the Russian would kill the civilians?

According to the military experts the Russians did not attack Kiev in the conventional sense. There were no full out attacks.
They threatened Kiev, thus tying up the military there preventing them from reinforcing those in the east. When the Russians had the eastern armies in place they removed the threat from Kiev and moved them to increase the forces in the east.
Why you ask, well there are said to be about 60,000 Ukrainian top soldiers in the east who are now surrounded and cut of from re-supply and re-inforcement.
Are these "experts" right, who knows, but time will tell one way or the other.
There has been massive propaganda about Russian losses, but none about Ukranian military losses, only civillian deaths, why do you think that is?

Official Ukrainian sources have announced up to 3000 Ukrainian troops have died thus far with the The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) verifying a total of 2,224 civilian deaths during Russia's military attack on Ukraine as of April 19,2022. Of them, 173 were children.

Surrendering will save lives. If the military within the steel complex hold out they will die. That's what happens in all wars. If troops don't surrender they get killed.

It's just the military within that complex, including much of the Azov brigade, not the old and infirm or children

Ive posted previous regarding a German chum of mine and his family's personal experience of the Russians on the their to Berlin in WW11. It's stayed with me.
Suffice to say, countles German civilians killed themselves and their children rather than be taken by the Russians. Rape is normal for their soldiers. They are dogs. They always have been and always will.
We have a poster doubting Ukrainians who are fighting literally to their last breath and somehow it's all their doing.

Russia needs isolating completely for the foreseeable future and its people better understand how hated they are.

Slightly more than right wing tendencies. The Azov brigade, lovely moderate ppl.The cluster bombs the Ukrainian military used on the Russian separists.

Of course no war is nice or justified, but we could say that about Iraq, Afghan, Syria Yemen,Somalia, etc none of which seem to have raised the same concern as this one has

The far right in Ukraine represents a very small proportion of the population, during their 2019 election the far right attracted something like 2.5% of the vote, if you want to see the far right have a look at the separatist areas in the East, the far-right is heavily represented among the pro-Russian separatists with several past or current leaders of the unrecognized break away republics of Donetsk and Luhansk linked to various neo-Nazi, white supremacists and ultra nationalists groups.

That's not what Putin believes though is it? It doesn't alter the fact that he believes Russians have been persecuted and brutalized in that area. It doesn't take huge numbers either, the NAZIS started off with a handful of fascists

They are unrecognized, and that's part of the problem too. It's not what we think or believe, it's what Putin and his cabinet think that matters
