To summarise; we have let a 20 year old striker leave on loan who has proven he can score goals playing in Russell Martin's preferred system. He even scored a terrific goal against the best football team in the world.
We are now actively trying to replace him with an expensive loan signing (Sam Greenwood) who has less experience, less proven ability to score goals in senior football and who's development will offer no long term benefit to our club.

I think bringing a lad on in the 93rd minute is Keith,as is bringing on ineffective low players when we are looking to inject some pace.
This kid has it but need a rocket up his backside . It really is all about man management.
I genuinely feel sickened by Martin.Bradley is seen a our worse manager by many. It shows how opinion differ.
God knows,I hated Cooper for his bottling the play offs but at least we got there,which we will not under Martin. | |

19 year old men can be a nightmare to deal with especially if they have high regard of themselves and a 4 year contract and a penchant for partying. I am not saying any o f this applied to Whittaker who seems like a perfectly nice fellow.
Going on loan to Lincoln will do him no harm at all and Appelby appears to rate him. Actually the pressure is on for him to match Brennan Johnson and the Man city kid who performed so well last season. Cullen has to do the same and may not welcome the pressure. Ollie Cooper has flourished have the second best assists record in league 2.
Sometimes a year or 6 months away can make a huge difference as they mature rapidly having taken a few knocks to the ego. Martin has done well with 22 year olds Piroe and Downes.
Martin has to get results and has gone with the old dogs to get him out of a fix . The likes of Hamer, Naughton, Bennett and Smith will keep i him safe from relegation but little more. |  |

Managers don't last longer than two years these days, success or failure. |
True but 2 different managers have had a half season each with Whittaker & decided he's either not good enough or not yet ready.
We can't afford to keep him in the squad just to have the occasional few minutes off the bench or under 23 game.

Not rewriting history at all, it was a common occurrence seeing the why isn't Cooper using Whittaker posts last season - a season when we didn't have a recognised striker.
When Cullen was fit again towards the end of the season Whittaker dropped behind him in the pecking order & got less game time, he was an unused sub in the playoff games
This year we have Piroe (who's been excellent) & Obafemi.
It's not an agenda if I don't think he's good enough, it's an opinion??
