"Woke" has a reasonably clear meaning to both supporters and critics, "cancel culture" doesn't, it's a common charge on one side while it's very existence is denied by the other. "Right-wing" also has a nebulous meaning as a criticism (as indeed does "fascism") I'm sure lots of people who are "accused" of it would vigorously deny it (eg JK Rowling), while others would be comfortable with it.
In either case, though a quarrel is hard to resist, we're a small enough group as it is, we hardly need further schisms. | | | |

Like I say, not the only site on the internet, not the only QPR message board on the internet, try one of the others if this one isn't to your taste.
If you want to stay and coat it off I'd really appreciate it if you did so in weeks where QPR aren't playing midweek and I'm literally working a 35 hour week to keep this thing running alongside a full time day job, just so I don't feel quite so completely shit. Cheers. |  | | |

Its an excellent site largely devoid of the idiotic comments I've seen on another board (Covid doesn't exist, AFCON shouldn't be played because no one cares about Africans etc, etc).

I've got to the point now where so called wokeness doesn't really bother me much anymore. Social media has sporned this new type of woke thinking or at least given it a platform,and it's possible it's not new thinking at all. It could be we're now just talking to people we wouldn't have done before. More varied opinions perhaps. I do think there's room for improvements on this site though. Not from Clive I must add. I just feel there's a bit of a clamber onto the high horse sometimes where irs not necessarily needed. I'm probably guilty of it too(like this post..lol) Where this site used to have posters just speaking their mind I think now you have to think twice because of the response and sometimes just not bother at all speaking for myself. (Some would say.. good!)

If you have an unpopular opinion and state it loudly, it's surely not surprising that a large number of people aren't going to react positively to it? Wouldn't be any different than if you made the same statement loudly in a pub full of people you didn't know.
Everyone should have the right to speak their mind on here as long as they do it respectfully but equally shouldn't be surprised if not everyone agrees with them and argues back. |  | | |
