vetch. It's best to hate them all or simply mistrust them ;failing that just not swallow all that they spout. Im told Russ is not using us purely as a stepping stone. He most certainly is and will sacrifice our club to get the next job.Sadly, his happy fans have missed this .

I think he will leave football and go into business full time. He's a great salesman and obviously quite smart ,personable and talks well. This impresses many . He will come undone. We will not get anywhere with him and eventually the crowd will turn on him and eventually the feckless owners will have to act . Keeping him will cost us far more than compensation paid to him. It's opinion anyway.

Think back to when we had beaten Norwich and Watford and we pushing for automatic. Or have you conveniently forgotten that ? Edit - On Feb 15th we had two games in hand of Norwich and Brentford. Had we won them we would have been a point ahead of Norwich and two ahead of Brentford. We were in third at that point. So definitely pressing for automatics not just the play offs. So if he leaves football will that be before or after he uses usxas a stepping stone to greater things, presumably after he has failed ( in your opinion)

Where do you get detest from, I've never said that. I support the Club that Martin is the manager of, and whilst we could have been more consistent, I'm happy to give him another season.

Pushing for something is fine, doesn’t mean you will make it. 92 points in a Championship season is wholly unrealistic. If you think it was then that is credit to Cooper and how he got that team playing. Again, show me a post from yours before the season saying you expect that side to be promoted automatically. In fact, find a post from anyone suggesting that was their expectations.

He has two other companies, if Cooper did I’m sure people would be accusing him of being “distracted” But yes I tend to agree. He hasn’t showed anything in his 3 seasons that suggest he is a talented manager. Bottom half every season with good squads at his disposal. Football management requires adaptability, a deep understanding of tactics, being able to identify weaknesses and address them and get the very last drop of points return out of the squad. It appears to me that Martin is more than happy to leave an abundance of points on the field to play a sub standard style of football simply because he likes it.

Why is it always so important to you to reference to what fans thought or predicted in this case prior to September 2020 ) My post is in reply to a poster who was suggesting we were not anywhere near the automatics ( which we were at that point in Feb 2021 ) and yet thre short months later we had deteriorated to a team which put in an awful performance managed by a guy who in his own mind was off to pastures new. Nothing in Cooper's demeanour or the team's performance illustrates anything different.

Because that would give an accurate reflection of expectation. It’s pretty easy for me to say “Laudrup failed because he didn’t win the Premier League… twice, and I thought we should have won it”. Much harder for me to qualify that with my thoughts at the time. One would be genuine views, the other would be revisionist views shaped by an agenda. At no point in the season did I ever expect to get 90+ points, whether we were within a few of 2nd at one point is completely irrelevant.

No fans sit down in the summer and decides " right I think we will finish top, 4th" etc and then not be prepared to revise it. For example next season, 2022 - 23, it is my belief that Swans will click and with the additions brought in during the transfer window, get promoted to the EPL. However, by January 23, we may be struggling in the bottom three and therefore of course I would revise my ambition to survive in the Championship and maybe finish at best in the top half. So of course when we were vying for the top two many fans expected us to push on and get promoted. Our failure to do so rests with the manager, no one else.

Eh? It’s what most fans do. You can find posts from me every year giving my expectations for the season ahead. You will find that on most forums. I don’t think I know a fan that have zero expectations going into a season. If your views change as the season goes on, that can only be because of the excellent performance of the manager and players… or indeed the poor performance of the manager and players. Revised expectations are just nonsense unless they are reacting to something significant, such as some huge investment in January. Our squad come January was no better than it was at the start of the season. So it’s a fallacy isn’t it. - If you expected top 10 prior to the season starting and Coopers side showed that sort of form all year and finished 9th… you would consider it a successful season. - Yet if they performed above their station for a prolonged period of time and came 6th and lose in the play offs… you would then consider it a failed season. That’s the nonsense behind what you are saying.

| Nottingham Forest on 11:20 - Mar 22 by vetchonian | Played more passes and a better pass accuracy than the "classy" Brentford so much for hoofball. As I have said before Brentfords second goal came from a breakaway when a Swans move broke down in their box at the time there were six Swans players in the Brentford box two just outside so we weren't attacking at all were we? Cooper has gone, he wasnt liked for many reasons, his football was not as dull as many profess if we had been attending games there would be a diferent view I am sure...Imagine having to sit and watch last Saturdays offering at home on tv with zero atmosphere and no crowd..... At least Cooper got us to the final....I fear for where Martin will lead us |
If you don’t think the final was as spineless a performance by any Swans team ever then you’re deluded. You keep crowing about making the top 6 - what was the point if the team you put out doesn’t even look like it’s trying? Shameful

I’d say anyone who thinks a team didn’t try in a play off final to get to the Premier league is deluded. Although I guess that’s obvious.
