Yes he failed to get us promoted but so did Jacket or Molby yet neither manager received the same as Cooper We all want us to be successful I want us back in the PL we spent 7 seasons there and for most of those held our head high there maybe our downfall came as the sellouts were distracted in getting the club sold rather than maintaining the status and momentum we had achieved

I've witnessed real spineless performances such as away to Oxford in the FA cup....losing to a lg2 side whilst we were in the PL....in the play off final we were beaten by a better team...if it was spineless Fulton would never have seen a red card....the truth is most were upset we lost they expected us to repeat 2011....when we didn't well it was easy to point the finger especially when Cooper was not generally liked

I wouldn't have called it spineless, he was outfoxed by the Bees manager, Cooper had failed to learn from our previous games against the Bees. Their second goal being an example .

You don’t just learn to be better than another team. Otherwise Derby would “learn” this season and be the best team in the league next year if they stay up. Sometimes you just have to doff your cap to the better team, and Brentford certainly were just that. It’s not something you just “learn”, that’s playground standard analysis.

Seven season was a magnificent achievement and only the last was close to relegation. Injuries cost the club dear. Burnley a similarly sized club will match Swansea this season and probably not beat the 7 seasons. Swansea fans have taken in a fake naive Sunday School moralist narrative of greed and averis as the reason for the relegation. This a rubbish. The real reason was poor signings and bad luck with injuries. The recruitment guru Mr Ledbetter could not find a forward better than Bony to replace Llorente for example and Clucas was a disaster folloing on from Borjan Tabanou and Eder. Negaredo would have least contributed something. Nothing to do with greed just poor recruitment. The narrative was also that the Trust were stitched up and had a strong case, Unlike other myths this example was tested legally and found to be false as no one would fund the supposedly "strong" case and were willing to provide funding only on outrageous terms. Punters think if something is quoted 1000 times on a forum must be true especially if supported by pseudo religious moralising and pseudo socialist spin.

So is one to assume that you saw us going into that final not expecting us to repeat 2011 ? Of course we went there as fans expecting us to repeat 2011. Otherwise no point going. We were playing a team who finished directly above us in the same division, not Man City or Liverpool for instance ? Reading put in a brilliant performance in 2011 but we beat them in the end. However that game could have gone either way. The sham of a final in May never came close to being a competition. We had no shots on target. Not one. Cooper set the team up and watched us fail with his hands in his pockets daydreaming of Crystal Palace.

Didn't you say anyone expecting to win a Final is arrogant and not something you would do? I think you said you didn't even expect us to beat League 2 Bradford in the Carling Cup when we were top 10 in the Premier League... yet you expected to beat a team who finished above us and had the better of us almost every time we played them at that time? This is the issue when you make views up on the fly to suit whatever narrative you want to spin. You need a good memory to do that. We had 9 shots in the Final, I'm sure they didn't intend to miss the target and it certainly was not Coopers instructions. Are you saying if one of the shots went 6 inches to the left and the keeper saved it then you would all of a sudden be happier with everything? If not, then this ''shots'' argument is a fallacy. Big difference between expecting to win and being arrogant enough to think we will win. Of course we expected to beat Bradford. However if it had not been for excellent man management by Laudrup, his team could ( as others had done as discussed before ) slipped on the banana skin that was Bradford in the cup. That we didn't was down to Laudrup, his staff and his players. Of course we expected to win the play off final against Brentford as fans. There was no reason not to expect us to put in our best performance and win. Except of course that for reasons discussed before, Cooper and his team failed to compete ( not one shot on target remember? ) and we whimpered out a poor sloppy second. As I stated above, Reading competed fully against us and were unlucky not to equalize. Compare that game to our pathetic effort in May

Eh? Expecting we will win, and expecting to win.... are the same thing. I said we expected to beat Bradford who were in League 2 and you said I was arrogant and nobody else expected to. But now when it suits you, you say you expected to beat Brentford who finished above us and were heavy odds on to beat us.... and making out we all felt the same? What do you mean ''of course we expected to win''?? No we didn't, who are you speaking on behalf of? I went in to that game with a similar attitude I do against the likes of Fulham and Bournemouth in the present day, I didn't expect to win at all, not even close. I don't know anyone who did. As football fans of course we expect our team to win, especially against teams of equal standing. They finished one place above us. At the end of the season in the play offs, league standings count for nothing. Plus as I am sure you will acknowledge anything can happen in a one off game. When we played Man City under Potter, we could and should have won, but we were robbed by lack of VAR and blatant cheating. We never looked like scoring or really threatening the Brentford goal. Not once. That was down primarily to one man - Cooper. Not sure why you feel the need to defend him ?

Again, who are you speaking on behalf of? I just read a thread from the day before the game and it doesn't appear that way at all, one even predicted a 5-0 defeat. Saying ''anything can happen in a one off game'' doesn't mean you have the right to ''expect'' to win, it means you have a chance. A chance each fan determines the size of, most appeared to have that chance as very slim. I defend anyone when common sense is being trampled on in order to attack someone. This is one such instance. Pretending we expected to win when we were large outsiders is just ridiculous. We did exceptionally well to get there.

How did a team go from competing for automatics in February to " We did exceptionally well to get there" three months later ? The only reason we had deteriorated (by your statement above ) is down to the bad management of Cooper. He took his hand off the rudder and we went from top two competitors to bridesmaids who as you put it "did exceptionally well to get there" Big change in such a short time

The same way we went from competing for a Champions League spot in 2012 to doing well to finish mid table. I didn't expect automatic promotion, anyone who expected that side to get 92 points is off their heads. Even if we kept up the incredible form of the first half of the season we would still finish 5 points and a heap of GD behind 2nd. There was no change. We dropped from 3rd to 4th, hardly a great changing of the tides. Except there was the odd moron thinking we had a real shout of top 2 as opposed to recognising that it was very unlikely indeed.

If we won all our games we would have won the league by a record points margin too. Sadly life doesn't work like that. Why ''should'' we have won our games in hand? If we should have won those two then why shouldn't we have won every game?

Possibly we should have yes. Or at least enough to finish in second. Why do you defend Cooper so much ? It is sad as he has ultimately done nothing for us. He came to us when we were in the Championship and when he left we were ... oh yes still in the Championship
