There isn’t enough wind for almost 90 million Germans. Reality check. Big mistake they made was to move away from nuclear

I hate agreeing with a Tory but at last, somebody has said it

Anything that takes spending power away from Drakeford and his band of clowns at the Senedd is good enough for me.

About time. For far too long we've had to watch with dismay the amount of money being poured into cardiff and its environs, much to the detriment to the rest of Wales .

So the welsh people vote for Labour to run our Senedd. Welsh people did not vote for a Tory government at UK level. So the Tories that we did not vote for and deciding that the Labour Senedd that we did vote for, is going to get by-passed and money given to local councils. Its a deliberate ploy to undermine devolution. Populist nonsense. 🇬🇧

No it doesn't. Wales has a budget like any other region. The UK govt can't fund itself, it's why we have a national debt we cannot pay back. The Uk has to borrow from International banks. Taxation alone doesn't cover the costs

Have you walked around our city centre recently ? Closed units everywhere, big named shops gone, decent shops all shut down in Debenhams, scroats wondering around everywhere. Fair enough with the Arena area, and plans for an Aquarium there also, but they need to drastically cut the business rates in the city centre, to attract traders back from online shopping.

So you can openly admit now that it is Westminster that pulls the money strings not the Senedd. Hence why their hands are tied. See I knew the penny would drop with you one day!

The Senedd is responsible for spending their own budget in devolved areas. This money isn't part of the Welsh budget is it? The Senedd can do as it pleases in devolved areas but not in areas where Westminster still has control. The Labour party in the Senedd only represents 16% of the electorate, no wonder so many people are unhappy. It's the same reason so many are unhappy with Westminster, we continually get governments that are elected by the minority.

Local elections in Wales have a turnout of 40%, Senedd elections slightly higher but still below 50%, with general elections in the high 60s. Therefore you will never have an elected party with over 50% of the electorate. The British and Welsh public have no real interest in politics otherwise they would go and vote.

That is entirely the point. People claim things about governments but they are all failing when they only get a minority of support. I think Bojo got 40% of the votes which is not good enough but the Senedd, labour got 16%. All political parties need to up their game or they cannot claim to speak for the country, in my opinion. People praising the Senedd but criticising Westminster miss that point. If the Senedd is so great why did Welsh labour only gain the support of 16% of the electorate? Personally, this year for the first time, I am voting Green because the local candidates seem the best choice to me. I had a frank exchange of words with our green candidate and she seems far better than the local Labour candidate.
