The amount of tax you already pay to get there and when you spend in that country of your choice should suffice.

Holiday taxes are essential if we want to reinvest so the holiday makers keep coming. Its that simple. Tourists expect certain things these days and Wales needs money to invest to meet that expectation. (Afterall no traffic queues to get into wales, unlike Fance, so any tourist tax can easily be offset against the petrol saved). Tolls sounds like a load of old bollox to me.

Mind you, this is why I 100% disagree with having party whips, MP;s should have a free vote so they can truly represent their electorate. |
I believe all parties are the same in that regard I was suspended once because I dared to disagree about all women shortlists and went public about it at the time I'll try and find the article I was interviewed by the press

You don't use the Brynglass tunnels then, I think people attending the Ed Sheeran concerts will disagree about no traffic coming into Wales. You really need to get out more, there's a big World to explore

Traffic congestion. Ever seen Brynglass Tunnel, Port Talbot at Bank Holiday time. All extra tax will do is make us less competitive against parts of England and Scotland. Whether those nations will introduce holiday taxes in conjecture at the moment. Its just an extra punishment on hard working people and extra admin work and accountancy for the businesses.

Then Wales needs to prioritise it’s spending which gives them the best RoI which sadly for you is attracting people from that ghastly England place at minimum cost and inconvenience to them. Up until very recently, I ran a holiday home business and my family background was a large (at the time) hotel in Swansea. I have some idea about tourism and know that extra financial burdens will drive people away. Of course, that’s music to your ears!!

Drakeford is Labour so is he an independent because theres nothing I've seen in the Labour manifesto which bears any resemblance to what's happening here .we all see the comments about Brexit and the mess that's been made of it and those who voted out take ownership then I suggest that the idiots who keep voting for Welsh Labour take ownership for the state we find ourselves in in Wales

The answer is we're screwed here whoever we vote for, the Libdems are probably a better choice but they didn't even make third. Some kind of coalition seems a decent idea, one without Labour orTory in but that will never happen either. It's part of my reason for wanting to ditch the Senedd, same as for the EU, the more politicians we have the worst things get. Can't we just have one group of useless clowns in charge rather than having the full 3 ring circus?

Incredible - even for you - that you suggesting that our priority in wales should be dictated by the transiant needs of Ed Sheeran fans. Remarkable. Its clear that in the past i have given you far too much credit.

Which is indeed what I said. But this needs to come from prioritising spend NOT directly taxing tourists. If you can’t see that, well…!!

Driving tourist out of Wales will cause more poverty, more unemployment. Wales needs to invest in infrastructure to keep tourists arriving which is Wales' largest industry. The senedd also need to tackle the problem of properties that have been unoccupied for more than a year which would the housing crisis in Wales. The Senedd have full power to compulsory purchase these properties but would rather bow the wishes of PC and attack holiday business which bring jobs and wealth to Wales.

So the status quo remains ? Or perhaps just perhaps voters should become more interested in politics and used their vote knowing what that vote meant instead of continuing the same cycle because grand daddy voted a certain way .The Welsh voter Is by and large ignorant or disinterested which as we now see a dangerous combination

Of course it can which emphasis the point I'm making , without a credible party and voter apathy , and I'll use you as an example, will also ways regardless because the opposition is perceived as being worse and ignoring the fact that labour are in their own way equally culpable of mismanagement and sleaze
