What I find so incredible about threads like this is the disconnect...

The vast majority can see how useless the 'government' in the Assembly is...and yet, on so many threads, those complaining about the Labour policies in Wales pretend that the Tories are just as bad and do not advocate change.
So we continue in a North Korea like situation.
One party in government for nearly 30 years...yet we daren't give some different ideas a whirl, no.

The voting public it seems, hates the Tories (thanks to their Parents & Grandparents) more than they want a better future for their kids.

The situation has become quite sick.

If Labour announced the first born son of every household would be sacrificed the day after the election they would still win in a landslide, such is our people's meekness, misplaced loyalty and lack of imagination.

The Tory party is the English Nationalist Party.

Cymru has never voted Tory, does not vote Tory and never will vote Tory.

After the miners strike, no welshman should ever vote Tory again. None.
Johnson is another who cares nothing for Cymru.
He cares about himself and his mates though.

Its almost like you are having a paddy because you are the last person in wales who is not aware of this.

Nye was right, the Tory party are ‘lower than vermin’.

we all want to see a successful Wales, but its not a theme park for others.

If we use the proposed Tourist Tax to improve our holiday offerings then it will build its own sustainable future. Shirley you can see that. Its extra money on top of what welsh govt can do. Its done in many places the world over already.

Its not only a numbers game btw, it needs to be a quality offering.
And that takes investment.

The tourists will not mind. Its a relatively small amount per person per night.

Your views are clearly skewed by your agenda and not by any knowledge of the industry. Therefore there is no point in trying to inform you what is best for Wales, you’re just not going to listen.

You repeat the same thing over and over in an attempt to convince others, and maybe yourself. Wales is at risk of being a middle to low ranking third world country if your beliefs are realised and that’s a shame.

All I can say is that thank goodness you are in the great minority.

Looking at the the stats regarding incoming and outgoing migration in Wales and the age groups, 10 years from now we may see a totally different political landscape in Wales, with East Wales having a larger percentage of English working in England and living in Wales. West and Mid Wales with a percentage of affluent English retirees. With the staunch Labour supporters confined to the valleys and old industrial areas. Are drakefords plans with extra senedd members an attempt to pre empt this.

Kilky thinks you can't be Welsh if you vote tory. He probably blindly votes the same way time after time (assuming he votes) without a second thought and cannot see the stupidity in that.

He welcomes anybody into Wales as long as they aren't English.

He's convinced himself Drakeford is for independence despite Drakeford clearly saying he isn't.

He's blinkered, narrow minded, heck not even narrow, he's a closed mind.

It's people voting exactly the same way no matter what that has delivered all our problems. The Tories and Labour have no need to change, to grow and develop better ideas because their sheep will always support them.

People need to look at their choices, think about them and make the best choice not merely turn up and vote as they have always voted. They are actually more like the fabled Lemmings than Sheep. Even if Lemmings don't actually do what many think they do!
I often (well mostly) disagree with Kerouac but his post on this looks accurate to me.

Tourism has a great part to play in y our economic future but its not the be all and end all , there has to be more to it than that. Look how little choices there are for kids leaving school, the odd one man band and the council offering apprenticeships and that's our kids future

The thing about Tourism is, there are other places where you can get what Wales has but with better weather!

Here in Wales we have to do better and that means not relying on other people to come here and spend, we have to build but the Senedd is busy tearing down. Most of Wales is rotting from the head down, left to stagnate by ideological pymies who can only see one solution, a solution that has never worked in England...build the capital and the rest will flourish...it's supreme idiocy.

many have said if the weather was more like "abroad" then there is is nowhere better than to visit than Wales (that's an opinion I fully agree with ) but we have to offer more than just being solely reliant on tourism , we're already seeing whole communities dying due to the migration of youth , look around Tenby for example , the amount of jobs available in the service sector is amazing but the workers just aren't there to for fill the vacancies . Tata in Port Talbot won't be there long , without government subsidies of £1.5bn its again under the treat of closure , where will over 7,00 jobs (including its service industry ) come from to replace it , selling buckets and spades on Aberavon on sea front ?. welsh labour won't give a monkeys if it closes nor did it when Fords Bridgend closed , its agenda is rewilding and planting trees and buying up land ( far more than just one farm) .

This makes an awful lot of sense as to what we're witnessing today , not just here but in the wider world

Only minimum wage jobs.
Empty communities outside of summer.

I see through a FOI request the Senedd have spent 6 million on buying upland on the auspices of planting trees , there was a demonstration at the Royal Welsh last week with farmers complaining (justifiably so IMO ) the pressures being put on them to comply with the diktats emanating from Cardiff . Just what is going on

Anyone with a garden had best go fully "Good Life" because soon enough the Senedd will have killed farming in Wales.

Kids growing up on farms now can see how hard a life it is for how little reward, no wonder farms seem to be dwindling.

We no longer lead our lives to make English people happy.

We dont give a damn what they think.
They certainly dont give a damn about Wales.

And yes - todays Tory party has no place in welsh society. The values at its core are English values. Thats fair enough and good luck to them, but it has never read across into welsh political life.

Wales is not England.

this is in England but if you're a farmer then there are grants available to make it a tempting offer, pity the barriers being put up will drive a lot towards leaving farming
( why are they making it easier to leave the industry , I & I maybe wrong but suspect that many others in other industries never had that financial incentive so why farmers )
I could never understand why the farming communities are the ones which seem to have to carry the burden of climate change , their impact on the environment cannot in any shape be compared to people living in cities yet their the ones currently being targeted

Farmers in Wales have never been so well.off. seriously.
Farmers 20-30 years ago struggled. They came to market with stock boxes held together with wire, houses in poor condition, Barns in a poor state of repair, battered vehicles, 25--30kg lambs, old tractors etc.
Now they have newish vehicles, .any of them 60k range rovers, newish stock boxes, newish tractors and implements, nice houses, the kids have nice houses, holiday cottages and done up barns, 35-50kg lambs as can afford to feed them etc.
They will.complain, but are 50 times better off these days.
I should.know.
