Players no training Sunday or Monday 09:02 - Aug 9 with 4813 viewsDr_Parnassus

Had some info today that the players didn’t report for training Sunday or Monday. Came in for light training at 9am this morning before Oxford. Are you able to confirm Keith?

After such a calamitous performance you would think there would be some major debrief or deconstruction as to what went on.

But no, same old same old carry on as you were. I suppose in his mind we had more possession so it’s nothing to worry about.

We heard him say “they had 4 shots on target and scored from 3 of them” as if it was unfortunate, he really cannot see anything wrong with his management.

Seriously concerning now.

Probably because Russ felt the game went well

In fairness we won possession.

Ferguson Jose & co who have pulled players in after crap performances know nothing compared to Jasper, Kilkenny & Russ.

We are in the championship not the PL mun games come thick & fast imagine fighting for trophies in all cup competitions.

Martin is clearly out of his depth and utterly incompetent.

No proper 1st team engagement since the humiliating debacle last Saturday, losing 0-3 at home.

Nothing other than a couple of hours Tuesday morning pre Oxford, where the focus will have been on the matchday team. Not even yesterday where he could have had a 1st team sesh.

He has SO much to fix yet is clearly not taking it seriously. He seems happily clapping to his possession stats tune. And nothing else. Negligent, he has to go.

It’s almost past comment AC.
We ve commented as it is,led by some brilliant Kerouac critique but I think all are now looking to see him gone,no matter what they utter public ally.
It doesn’t matter if people were wrong to trust him or right or that some visionaries saw through this clown virtually from the first few weeks.

It helps to be cynical..

When he does go,I do not want blood letting on this site

When he goes,we should rejoice then concentrate on saving our club which is in dire straights right now.

Not at all mate - it's totally current and ever-so pressing.

The more posts like yours on sites like this call out Martin for the who, the what and the how he is SO not right, not right in so many ways and so not right for the Swans, the better.

Trust me: the powers that be have eyes here and are reacting. Big time.....

I've not known a recent manager to be so negligent in neglecting the 1st team for so long after such a shite performance and result. He's lost it, big time.

He HAS to go, NOW.

Anyone who thinks that employees of a football clubs biggest fans websites doesn’t visit them is living in some form of dreamland. The intensity of the feeling of a clubs fans would be foolishly disregarded at their peril. In fact Swansea City have no choice but to read opinions due to the amount of reports they receive from the more bitter or jealous few who continue to bombard them with emails.

I know I’ve seen almost all of them. The more complaints the more views, and then of course when the complaints are seen as mere nonsense the more credibility we get when they actually read our features and reports. As I’ve said before we can only thank them, they do our work for us.

The day a business doesn’t gauge reaction to their products by their biggest online client base is the day they lose touch with the reality of what they are trying to achieve. Now how much they actually respond to that, and how is a matter of pure conjecture, but for anyone to think that they don’t is living in cloud cuckoo land.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

100%.

Martin is known to have said he doesn’t read message boards but that’s obviously a lie. He always says such like as “I know I’ll get criticised for saying this…” - he can only know that if he or someone else is keeping an eye on supporter criticisms.

Yep. Yet another incontrovertible Fact.

My preference is to always deal in facts.

Like the Fact that Martin has clearly neglected the 1st team since the Blackburn humiliating spanking. Almost no proper engagement from Saturday to Thursday. Unacceptable, in so many ways.

Coops was so much more professional, optimised 1st team engagement from the off, maximised all opportunities of getting the best out of the crop. Coops had far more face time, worked them harder, delivered clear unambiguous messages. No waffle, no nonsense.

Martin is so out of his depth. Fortunately some of us See and not 'simply' Look, blindly, eyes wide shut.

I know for a fact that some players in the past were regulars looking on here.
It even became a running joke at the time that if a player done it said something silly that they were reffered to a poster on here.

With all due respect that was all gobbledygook Daps. But I get your sentiment. The club is plugged in to this site and not other lesser sites.

Back on topic (you seem to have a penchant for derailing threads which expose Martinball for the yank it is) : No proper engagement with the 1st team, Daps.

Shocking isn't it ?

You know that's not the case Andy, you know that there is never training on Sunday unless there is a game in Monday.
Monday was the usual brief and fitness/injury check.
Tuesday they set off early for Oxford and the first team were training but obviously without Martin and Co who were on the bus to Oxford.
Wednesday saw the brief for the players for the Oxford game and Wednesday then saw Martin take the training.

Its hardly a suprise the above, what I expected and can be expected taking into account a mid week game, its the usual pattern and one I would expect for most teams.

I am not defending Martin but just giving the usual correct line that seems to get twisted a lot on here to suit ones agenda.

Incorrect. Under Brendan and Roberto players were brought in on Sunday for a debrief should the result be unsatisfactory.

Another correction is the manager doesn’t travel on the bus.

Just to correct the agenda there.

C'mon Daps mun, you're better than that, surely.

You have just confirmed that much of what you say is made up. Re-read the Facts I posted about minimal engagement. It's negligent, there's an ongoing theme of negligence.

Martin has only the once got the players in on a Sunday since he's been here. EPL manager Coops often got them in.

It all points to Martin losing the plot - it now seems he's not that bothered to work hard to change things, not bothered engaging properly with this 1st team to fix all the broken things he's broken.

He's broken our defence above all else - an ex-pro defender breaking our defence says it all.

Martin out, for so many reasons.

I am hoping the likes of Benda, Brandon and Ollie Cooper, Garrick Cullen Joseph and Williams can play well and get the managers attention.

DEfinitely!

Personall, I think the most likely to be to RM's liking in the long term are:
Both Coopers.
Joseph.
Dan W.

Garrick has a decent chance if he can improve on the decent showing last season.

Hope Benda can improve his footwork a bit, but I find that highly doubtful, so he'll be sold.

As for Cullen, I feel he's last in line for a first team spot, but RM seems to see something in him, as evidenced by the faith last season and that he's still here and playing now. I much prefer Joseph.

Brandon would have been given more chances if Martin was at all interested. Another two young centre halves brought in ahead of him, his future is elsewhere unless Martin leaves imo.
