Keith had not told me of anything else other than that, so no, they have not raised any issues directly relating to anything I’ve pulled(as far as I’m
Aware) What I do know is that people from other sites have screenshotted posts that appear on here and have caused issues. What I am trying to do is prevent that from happening and nipping things in the bud before they kick off. When they do kick it causes the site hours of problems.
If I pull something, it’s down to me, not Keith. He’s got more important things to be getting on with and I’m doing my best to help him out. Whether I get that right or wrong is a

It happens quite often, the last one was hilarious because I was emailed and within that email was the details of the idiot causing trouble. As a clue that went straight to the police regards ongoing harassment, it will be watertight as hell once he gets the knock on the door. |  |

I assume you misunderstood what my point was?
I’m saying that you referring it it without context as “kids with butt plugs” is far more ‘screenshotable’ than the thread itself.
The thread itself had context, which was being disgusted by the fact it happened in a school lesson. Without context (like yours) it allows people to take a screenshot of what you have said and then set the stage as to what they want to claim was discussed.
So again, agree with deleting it… but you are sort of defeating the object by repeating the sentence but without any context. | |

I’ll expand, just to make sure you know what I’m talking about.
A thread comes up regarding this subject. The discussion is about how awful it is etc
It gets deleted because you don’t want someone to screenshot it and make up their own context. Fair enough, I understand that and probably agree.
So with that reasoning in mind….. when explaining, it’s probably best to give the context and say “I deleted a thread about someone being angry at butt plugs being given to children in school lessons”.
As opposed to when you say “I deleted a thread about children with butt plugs” it’s extremely clumsy and far more damaging than the thread itself which had the much needed context. Seems like it’s exacerbating the initial problem.
Imagine the fun people with a penchant to screenshot and make up their own context can have with that. Without the original thread to cross reference they can make up whatever they like and set the stage in a far more damaging way as to what was being discussed.
Hope that makes sense.
It’s great that you have been open about your reasoning but I feel that what maybe was a subconscious attempt to make the subject sound more “delete-worthy” you probably are just giving ‘screenshoters’ far better opportunities to cause issues. [Post edited 12 Dec 2022 2:37]
