I know it's the done thing to constantly knock Lati but I like him, along with Wood he will undoubtedly get better with experience. And Manning is a good Championship player who strikes the ball really well, not too many of our players pose a threat outside of the box.

Lati is not Championship quality, might do a decent job in League 2 or possibly Wrexham. We need better if we are to progress. The fact that the coach plays him out of position shows how strapped the club is for cash to bring in the level of player required to progress at wing back. With the likes of Cabango & Wood picked ahead of him at centre back, well that tells its own story.
Manning has grown on me. He has moved on from being a liability & a loose cannon to being a valuable member of the starting eleven. If he won’t sign a new contract just call his bluff, he’s really not one that couldn’t be replaced. He joined us on a free, he owes us more than we owe him, can’t see him flourishing in the Championship anywhere else. |  | | |

They may sign something, but they haven’t which is refusing to sign what they are being offered.

Lati’s salary is exceptionally low by even league one, even league two, standards so even doubling it is not a massive raise. Manning seems to believe he can get 18k a week elsewhere, then best of luck to him. He won’t get that at Swansea., | |

I think its a bit unfair to judge Lati given that he has hardly played in his true position for us.
A player who is a central defender and performed there at International level has spent the majority of his game time here playing mostly as an attacking wing back perhaps had he been played consistently in his "proper" position folks may have a different opinion on his level of ability.
Just imagine in all our working lives if our manager put us into a role that we were not used to having always done Im sure our performances would be below par |
Lati isn’t a wingback for sure but I don’t think he’s good enough to play centre half regularly at this level either. There’s no questioning his effort but even I could take the pitch and do my best but it doesn’t make me any good.
If there was any confidence within the club that he was going to make the grade as centre half, a) why bring in Wood and Darling and b) why persevere with trying to develop him into a fullback/wingback? |  | | |

Fair enough if he is demanding £18k as you say and won't resign for less. Then surely end negotiations. There's not many who put pen to paper once January has begun. Grimes probably the exception.

True, but I don’t think I made those comments because I’m generally quite patient with young developing players. My issue with Lati is that he hasn’t developed into a starting centre half and is struggling as a wingback. Maybe he has a better future in a team that plays a flat back 4? | | | |

Sadly for Lati the belief is he isn’t good enough, which is fair because from what I have seen he isn’t. Manning is worth another contract but not on much more than he is on, as it is nearly 40k a month is a 1.5 million three year deal. |  |

I would think he’s forgotten what his natural game and position is.
I will say this, if he leaves and gets a manager who plays him properly he may well have a decent career. But for me it’s unlikely ( bookmark ) ðŸ¤

There was talk last summer that Kompany and Burnley were interested in Latibeaudiere, maybe the fact he’s playing out of position means the club isn’t seeing the best of him. Who knows, I suspect we’ll know more this time next year. | | | |
