| What do you really think of Cardiff City ? on 19:45 - Jan 6 by SullutaCreturned | What a bizarre post. Jenkins is vilified because of how he handled the sale of the club, the lies he told and that is all. Nobody hates him for what he and the others did taking us to the Premier league. You moan about "anglophones" which means English speaking so you moan about yourself too. maybe you mean Anglophiles which is just as bizarre given your nice English friends and the nice things you say about Welsh hating Cundy. You talk about ethnic slurs but then slur anybody who is "anglophone" and you moan about other people who don't fit your idea of being Welsh yet the atmosphere at the ground, when we play certain English teams is really quite fierce. Maybe better to stay on topic and stop hijacking threads to make increasingly bizarre posts. |
Yep I meant Anglophile. Good spot Doc. The Trust spend £400k on lawyers and 6 years of posturing and discovered that they was no case for being badly treated. No case no apology to Swansea's greatest ever Chairman who upset some bloke or two in a useless committee (that have no idea what to do with their money). When talking about Anglophiles it is focused on his forum mainly. A Union flagman above proves my point about Unionists with enhanced distaste for fellow Welsh team. Nothing bizarre about my post or even "increasingly " bizarre either. Swansea fans accept some good old fashioned ethnic slurs as long as it is not against Asians or Afro Caribbeans. They have not understood zero tolerance of ethnic hate which must include English slurs. I want Cardiff to beat Leeds but do not like Cardiff much. This is where I stand answering the thread title.

That’s as far as it goes really. What really puts me off Cardiff City is the Welsh ( Cardiff) media, and it’s not just the football either. It’s become unwatchable in the last few years, it’s pathetic. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| What do you really think of Cardiff City ? on 22:25 - Jan 6 with 770 views | Dr_Parnassus | In my late teens I lived in Cardiff, used to love going to the stadium after they lost and seeing their faces as they stream out of the stadium. I really didn’t like them back then. The rivalry seemed to be really intense maybe up until 10-15 years ago. Now I don’t particularly care about them either way, that may be due to age and football as a whole becoming less important. But there doesn’t seem to be that spark there anymore. Without looking for a bite here, it does seem to be that they have internally conceded to us after decades of bravado and as for us - we accepted it long ago. When there is nothing to battle over and nothing to prove then rivalry tends to fizzle away. There is a chance for a double/double this season and I couldn’t even tell you which month that game is, let alone the date. The rivalry has never meant less to me than it does at the moment, I wouldn’t say they are just another club - but it’s not a million miles away from that. I wouldn’t want them to go out of business or anything like that, but a relegation would be pretty funny. | |

I have pointed out to you that the biggest haters of Cardiff are also the biggest haters of Wales and all its institutions on this forum. The Union flagman for one. The long lost traveller for two. It is an urban Jack thing. The Senedd, BBC Wales, WRU, Western mail and Cardiff City all in the dog house. I am from Carmarthenshire via the Neath Valley and thick differently and not afraid to post. . The question was what do you really think of Cardiff city. I have answered I do not like them much their fans are horrible and the club is inept in the extreme. I think they have been hard done by over the Sala case where they did nothing wrong by the player but were stupid enough not to even ensure they were fully insured which is incredible. In the spirit of disliking clubs I want Cardiff to defeat Leeds because I am Welsh and want Welsh teams to beat English teams. The teams I want Swansea to beat most are Man Utd Man city, Liverpool not Cardiff city. Jenkins and co delivered but had to upset the limp wristed fellow travellers on the board behind. Swansea fans are it seem to me are downright weird in tolerating and even appreciating English ethnic slurs towards themselves equating it with non ethnic slurs toward English, and hating the people that put the club on the map Jenkins and Morgan. These people made Swansea undisputed Wales's no 1 team for the last 15 years or so. Some nobodies had their nose put out of joint but who cares. They were never much use to the club but controlled a fake narrative. Beating Cardiff is no big deal. They have failed because of Choo and Dalman. Swansea have succeeded firstly from Jenkins and stabilised with Birch Winter backed by Levien and Silverstein who have a plan. Cardiff have no plan and if they did have not driven the plan. This will seem bizarre to some but is what I think. This is what the thread requested.

Bizarre, it is, and this post is even more bizarre, people have made their minds up and the jenkins thing is behind us now. Hijacking threads by continually turning them towards HJ and the trust isn't what I want to see and maybe others would agree, I'll leave that to them. Thing is, and it's off topic sorry, being an anglophile doesn't mean you're not Welsh or hate Wales any more than being a Francophile means you love Macron or hate the UK. I love dogs, it doesn't mean I hate cats. If you're interested, I hate borders, I hate what nationalism does, it drives us to fight, to wars that kill innocents, to greed and destruction. It doesn't mean I can't do a football rivalry, it doesn't mean I can't enjoy us beating another team and it certanly doesn't mean that I can't tell the difference between banter and genuine racism or ethnic slurs. You see the English don't really think we shag sheep any more than we always defecate on the English side of the bridge, it'd take much too long to go there every time I needed a dump! genuine racism and ethnic slurs are meant, when someone calls a black person the N or C word, they mean it, they think that black people are lesser beings purely because of their colour. In years gone by, long ago now, on my travels, I was involved with girls from Swindon, Liverpool, Reading and Bradford, they loved my accent. Spurs fans refer to themselves as yids, are they anti Semitic? Black people have been known to refer to each other as "N...a" does that make them racist against themselves? Language is a funny thing, intricacies and nuances that we don't always understand and some people just want to see racism and ethnic slurs in a lot of things because it helps them defend their own bigotry. other people just see banter.

Reckon he would come out with some interesting stuff, clearly can see the light and wasn’t brought up on swansea water. The intensity of games between us has definitely gone in recent years. It built up heavily after we were league above you from 2000 to 2008, your lot frothing at the mouth for the league cup game and when bellers curled in the winner, just to name two. Selectively going back to about then our record isn’t that bad, lost 7 win 4 draw 1. That last game here being the killer obviously. I guess we will see how much you are bothered in April but I’m sure you and your players will be? Isn’t the cardiff centric media the real problem? Something I’m afraid will only worse in years to come as our respective cities grow further apart economically, the gulf already being massive. Hopefully we will get new owners soon else we might well have be in different leagues next season.
