Thought all this Transfer business was being handled by Super Silverdollar Jake. Funny on how we haven't heard a pip squeak from him for a while now and he certainly hasn't interrupted another family Holiday to sort out the SCFC Ship.

Martin has Cullen, Piroe, Patterson Obafemi and Whittaker with Joseph on loan all fit all young except JP, all under contract. There are 20 or so games left. Why does the manager and fans need a SEVENTH striker and another £1m is what I am asking and so is Jake no doubt.? Patterson who Martin wanted for a pay rise is not performing . Obafemi is red hot on occasions but not for Swansea and wants out. Whittaker and Joseph are not to the managers liking no one knows why. Sorry folks the owners are not that stupid. The club does not need more money to waste .

Where have you been for the last week? You do know that Obafemi and patterson are definitely going and possibly whittaker so that leaves us with only 2 proper strikers.

Not a bad record. Surprised we haven’t recalled him to sell too. Edit: scored a brilliant solo goal the other day moments after coming off the bench after a two month injury lay off according to the world renowned Oxford mail. [Post edited 16 Jan 2023 23:41]

Talking about strikers last time we went up from this league in 2010/11 we had Pintado, Borini, Beattie, Moore, Emnes, Kuqi, Easter, Nouble and Priskin as a centre forward at some point. Sure Dobbie probably played there at some point too. That’s almost a full team of strikers.

Which begs the question why the sale of Whittaker is even being considered. The answer of course is that Russy won't play him anyway, so he might as well be sold so we can give RM more money to spunk on players that he'll fall out with eventually. Not sure where the story is here. Most people accept that the club needs to sell before it can buy (given the £10m write off it's clearly living beyond its means) but we haven't sold anyone yet. In the meantime we're testing the water to see if we can agree some lower value deals.

The story is the movement of agreements when they are agreed and the loss of players as a result. If Russell Martin is to blame then what about Josh Marsh and Julian Winter ? Or is he totally to blame for everything ? A decent percentage aren’t happy but when it’s reported as to one of the reasons why people complain. That’s odd.

I don’t think many are suggesting RM is responsible for any deals not going through. I don’t think anyone should really blame Winter or Marsh either based on what you are reporting. To be the senior person representing the club in this country as Winter is, then to have the goalposts moved and be undermined after negotiations have been carried out tells us all we need about the toxic ownership. Quite frankly I can’t see how Winter can work under such conditions but there again he gets paid a lot of money. What people are frustrated by is RM’s attitude to Whittaker & the way he is being treated by the club.

It was of course an answer to a question. Ours is the transparency of Whittaker’s recall, and the reasons given initially which even when put in black and white (scuse the pun) some people can’t grasp. Which is a bit worrying. Plus of course the fact that transfers are being lost due to unprofessional dealings by the joint ownership at the point of completion.

You are right Keith even I wouldnt blame Martin for the failure in transfers There are several concerns which the report/article raises though for me The attempted renegotiation of agreed deals this certainly will not help us as a club going forwards with future targets and who is the driver behind this is it JAke S? IT seems ever since his involvement things are going awry As you say the transperancy behind Whittakers recall is cloudy at best....personally I am not surprised the club may try to sell him as these "business men" look to balance the books so getting monies for an asset our manager may not use may seem attractive of course I also did wonder if this was the "cover" or replacement for Obafemi who is hopefully now destined to leave. Things are obviously not a s rosy as the PR machine has been making out between Jake, Russ and Winter..well done to Swans Independnat in flushing this out though its a real concern

Thanks for a lucid response, more people will appreciate that than outrageous nonsense from one poster here this morning. It’s a shame. People often refer to forums like they do a public bar. From this mornings efforts I would say it probably is best it isn’t. Of course Martin is being shafted, the fans are as well, in fact I think the club are being shafted in the search for the cheapest option and as a result we have and will lose players.,

Why would Russ walk he has always been a mid table manager. And that's where we are now mid table. We wasted 700k last window on Ogbetta and Fisher. Patterson,Whittaker and Obafemi are all still with us at the moment. So it's not just us struggling to close out deals. Coventry Rangers and Burnley are as well. [Post edited 17 Jan 2023 11:08]

I’ll agree with Andy Fisher being Martin’s responsibility but Ogbeta was definitely not down to him, he wasn’t even aware of the signing until it was too, late. The final straw for Mark Allen it seems who was the man behind it. However, he was also responsible for the signing of Ntcham.

No I get that Keith wasn't blaming Martin for the Ogbetta deal. Was just pointing out maybe the owners are being cautious with the signings this window due to a couple of duds last January. Also we are not really in a position to sign more forward players whilst the 3 mentioned above are still with us. I would equate it to buying a new house before you have sold the one you are living in Unless you are loaded you can't and our club is not flush with cash by any stretch

I think that the point that is being made is that the problem with closing deals is down to our owners not other clubs. Word gets around and the risk is that if we are messing about with deals other clubs will not want to deal with us.
