Should we change our name to the Welsh version? on 19:57 - Nov 21 by Boundy
He/she/it//them does seem to have downer on posters who've experienced life in all its forms
It kicks one in the balls does it not Boundy boy. Still in shock at the poll. They fail to realise foreigners will simply not know wtf Dinas Abertawe is . On world maps it is Swansea and ,as such, has a profile and profiles in marketing matter .

My balls have been kicked harder by better individuals that's for sure. The poll is just that ,a poll.I voted no because as you say we have a name in the footballing world + in the wider world.. When you consider the the era when the Club first formed why wasn't it named as the proposal ,there were more Welsh speakers then than now but the founders must have had a valid reason not to. All I can see it being money being spent just to pander to a few imo of course

Its amazing that you know so much about the backgrounds of so many posters that you have never met.
And a self proclaimed man of the world into the bargain. Fair play to you.
Watch you dont fall off that high horse mind ….
You'd be surprised who I and what I know ,never for one moment have I self promoted myself just said things as they are or were . By the way I live in Wales not Ireland where we have much more progressive forms of transport

Most Swansea city fans want the team renamed Dinas Abertawe??. What do I know?

The poll relates only to a number of posters who have chosen to vote on here. Like exit polls in elections, they merely give an indication of how the fans would feel were a change of name put to the vote of all supporters. Of course you knew that. You did know that, didn't you ??

I support Swansea City, I will always support Swansea City
Now if there was a name change I would drop the City, as in only using Swansea (like Chelsea or Arsenal/Liverpool etc), why do we need City, we are not a two club city, leave that to Manchester

I have always found it strange that if you were to ask a Swansea fan who they supported they would say Swansea, ask a Cardiff fan and they would always say Cardiff City.

I assumed wrongly that 95% at least would be resistant to any changes. The women's team for me is the key "naming battle ground". I am astonished that as many as 44 people want the club to be renamed "Dinas Abertawe".
Football fans are basically conservative and hate change. Hull city for example andCardiff shirt colours.
The women's team is a new project for the club. It only plays in Wales and not under the FA (of England). All Swansea players are listed as Welsh and probably upto 30% speak Welsh. S4C will probably be uin there for broadcasting rights. It should not ruffle the feather of those with Anglo affiliations. I always favour compromise and understanding.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
