Can the Swans turn the tables in what is a pretty insignificant cup fixture ? 26th Oct 2025 09:53
Fifteen matches have passed since Swansea City last beat Manchester City and that was in 2012 when a 1-0 win from the head of sub Luke Moore settled matters. Those who recall that game will smile because the temperamental Mario Balotelli was booked when he booted the ball away after a decision by referee Lee Mason. Scott Sinclair missed a penalty and the Swans had the best defensive record with Liverpool in the Premier League. 1

Vipi very happy plus Sheehan on the League Cup 29th Oct 2025 08:00
Alan Sheehan and Pep Guardiola have given us their thoughts on tonight’s game in the fourth round of the League Cup as the Swans go looking for what would be classed as a giant killing. The game is a sell out and the kick off is 7:45pm at the swansea.com. 0

Team News : Swans v Citizens : The talking has finished 29th Oct 2025 14:44
Swansea City take on Manchester City today in the League Cup Fourth Round at the swansea.com (7:45pm) 0

No disgrace as the Swans bow out 29th Oct 2025 22:27
As we have seen recently a firing on all cylinders start ended in a rearguard action tonight at the swansea.com. On this occasion head coach, Alan Sheehan can be forgiven to an extent, but once the Swans switched to a more defensive posture this game was only going to end with Manchester City winning the game. 1

This game is a free hit so i expect every player to bust a gut.

Im hoping that sheehan gives the fringe players a start and give almost every player equal game time, we need our squad players to get as much time on the pitch so sheehan has options he can trust to do a job.

Indeed do
And try a back three of Ben Can and Casey
Galbraith Stam and Widdell at central
Mid field
Then go for it

And keep Vig in goal

To be fair to him, his last few appearances have been well above his previous standard.

He is light years away from Vig
He has played better than in previous seasons but that’s a low bar indeed
Vig should play
This is a main feature tv game and nobody wants us humiliated
We need our best players out there
They can make us proud
And don’t feck Vipotnik about
Start Wettell
Get atses off seats early
Get into these arrogant bent feckets btw, what happened to the Hundred plus FFP charges

Yes absolutely.

We’ve got another three game week coming up. We need our regulars fresh and our squad players sharp.

This is a game for the likes of Casey, Widdell, Idah and Smith-Samuels to start.

Vig was awful again last Saturday. nailed to the goal line for their goal, then he comes forward, then he dithers, then he comes forward when it'd too late. A great stopper which looks good, but he must start dominating the box and 6-yard area in particular.

Without him we would have lost against soton and on Saturday.

Fisher does not exude confidence in my opinion...everytime I see opposition players attacking our box looking at Fisher he stands on his line looking scared....yes he made some saves recently but that is his job
Play Vigs and a strong team tonight and win more money for our transfer kitty at the seasons end

Vig is in no way awful but I do share your view in some ways. He doesn’t naturally come away from his line as you say and I’d say he could have been a bit quicker when Sargent clipped it over him to make the Norwich goal. But at the moment we’d be stuffed without him.

Are the club printing a programme tonight?

Could be a revenue driver with 20,000+ in the stadium.

There’s a lot of things they should be doing commercially mate.

They are having a charity collection in the AC Lounge for Katherine, who recently gave birth to a baby with cystic fibrosis. Charity raffle with prizes donated by the Plough & Harrow in Murton. They are hoping to raise Β£1,000. The staff in the lounge seem to have more business sense than the commercial department!

Idah seems to be just waiting for his chance and not helping all that much defensively. Not very active. Our other forwards chase the ball a lot better. I'd rather see him be more active.
