Trump insane? Please expand on this. Also, your comment "He will use this for his own use", is very loosely-stated without explanation as to why you think that. A "maniac"? Really? Starmer who recklessly cedes control of a strategic military base jointly owned by the US in the Indian Ocean is not deemed "insane, or a maniac"? What UK leader other than Chamberlain would do that to the people who elected him, do that to his country's defensive bulwark? Could it be one that acknowledges that the UK doesn't really have a role to play in the world? Starmer is a very bad joke on the English & Welsh people! Those who are insane are those who are eaten up with TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome. The media along with Dem politicians, like the ones who spoke in Barcelona hoping the US loses in the Iranian conflict are prime examples, overridden with their socialistic values to take down the most prolific world power whose core values are based on a democratic republic and free-market economy. UK voters need to ask themselves why they as a country are no longer relevant on the world stage. Is it because they keep electing sorry-ass leadership? I purposely don't like to comment on your country's politics because I'll admit that I really don't understand your politics. I openly admit that I proudly voted for Donald J. Trump and would gladly do so again today. I voted for him to keep our borders secure and our constitutional freedoms alive. Oh, and Trump did win in a landslide in both the popular vote (77, 302,580 to 75,017,513) and the electoral college vote (312-226) in 2024. Trump took action against Iran because they were on the verge of creating nuclear weapons that were certainly going to cause not only the American & Israeli people harm but the entire world great political and economic hardship. Their chants, "Death to America", Trump took seriously, and so he acted quite bravely and independently. But most of you on this chat board have bought into the US ultra-liberal mainstream/world media's and Dem party's hatred of Trump, and it's quite disgusting to read your posts inferring that Trump "needs to be neutralized", and is likely to be"assassinated". I never wished that on Biden nor Obama, always praying that the American voters would vote for a leader who espouses freedom and national security first and foremost and based on the US Constitution. Everything you’ve said I think has be answered in the posts above. If you can’t see that the man is a sociopath in control of the most powerful country in the world (for the time being anyway) meting out punishment, PUNISHMENT FFS to other great countries in the world because they wouldn’t do what he asked / demanded, then I pity you. He also contradicts himself by saying other countries are useless and not needed. So what is it?? He should be an embarrassment to you as an American because he sure as hell is to many Americans. I can’t nor should I criticise him on his domestic policy because that’s none of my business. There is much that I can see which I wish we would adopt here because one thing you are right on, Starmer is a disaster in so many ways and his days plus his party’s are numbered. But it’s not for Trump to make jibes live on TV. It’s crass, rude and about as undiplomatic as it comes. I hope that we and the EU do start to put more into our defence because that’s something that I do agree with him upon as we shouldn’t be so reliant on the US not for their sake but more for ours. You can’t be trusted anymore I’m afraid.

"The civilised world" acting the way it has since the end of the Cold War may be one of the reasons why things seem to be sliding into the shit and leading to the rise of your Trumps, Le Pens and Farages in the first place. Western Europe in particular seems to be engaged in a long, slow ritual suicide. This feels weird. Trump is an egotistical, impetuous manbaby who I wouldn't vote for in a million years and yet I still sometimes feel the need to point out that if you dig deep enough into the insanity then you will often find a kernel of common sense. For example, during his first term I remember the Germans laughing at him when he gave them a bollocking for shutting down their nuclear power stations in order to depend on Russian gas & oil. A less unhinged President could probably get away with a lot of it. A less unhinged President would probably get shot at a lot less. He's basically a mirror reflecting the worst "Liberal" behaviour back at them and they don't like it at all. [Post edited 27 Apr 18:46]

UK relevant on the world stage? Because we keep on voting for sorry arse leadership? You don;t have to admit you don't know our politics it is quite clear. Our population of less than 70 million and choosing to be bloody allies of those who deserted to live in the free world is one of the reasons we are no longer relevant.

Dear God, where do I begin (sigh)?! Yes, I'm telling you that Trump is not insane. If America is so despised by millions then why on earth do so many illegal immigrants want to enter the US illegally under the guise of seeking asylum? The previous Democratic Administrations (both Obama & Biden) allowed this to happen so that they can get their votes? Trump shut our borders down so that no more illegals can enter our country. Immigrants can still apply and enter legally though, something that the liberal & TDS media don't point out. Corrupt? Immoral shithouse? Biden and his son (do I really need to cite the numerous conflicts of interests here, his absenteeism from doing his job, again his neglect of protecting the US border, etc., etc., etc.?); Obama and both of his attorneys general, Holder and Lynch, especially Holder (re: On June 28, 2012, Eric Holder became the first sitting U.S. Attorney General to be held in contempt of Congress. The House voted 255-67 to cite him for civil and criminal contempt regarding his failure to produce documents related to the "Operation Fast and Furious" gun-walking scandal). I could go on and on with further examples of corruption with both of these sorry former Presidents. Yes, Trump has called certain people commies, socialists, lefties (maybe not that term), weak, and more, and rightfully so. The mayor of NYC is a self-admitted socialist but is really an AOC/Sanders communist. But I don't think Trump has called anyone queer, especially with one of his brightest cabinet members is gay (Scott Bessent, the Treasury Dept head). Furthermore, an Executive Order was signed on Jan 20, 2025 regarding DEFENDING WOMEN FROM GENDER IDEOLOGY EXTREMISM AND RESTORING BIOLOGICAL TRUTH TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. You should read it. A very good read! Yes, America's past is filled with vicious racism and genocide of native peoples, but it pales to the UK's same if not worse vicious treatment of it's colonial indigenous population and it's own UK population. Why do the Premier League and the FA take extreme actions against those players who violate their strict "No Room For Racism" policies? Just last year a Spurs player, Rodrigo Betancur, was banned for seven games for saying a racial slur against his teammate Son Hueng-min. You can't tell me that racism is not worse in the UK than in the US. I see it on this chat board as well as in UK stories I read. And now in the US, a grand jury has handed down ELEVEN indictments against the ultra-liberal Southern Poverty Law Center (On April 21, 2026, a federal grand jury in the Middle District of Alabama returned an 11-count indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The indictment alleges the organization engaged in wire fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering by funneling over $3 million to informants in extremist groups. The Guardian Indictment Details and Allegations Charges: The 11-count indictment includes six counts of wire fraud, four counts of false statements to a bank, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. The Scheme: Prosecutors allege that between 2014 and 2023, the SPLC used donation funds to pay informants—referred to as "field sources"—inside groups such as the Ku Klux Klan, National Alliance, and various Nazi organizations. Misleading Donors: The indictment contends that the SPLC misrepresented how donor funds were used, claiming they were for dismantling hate groups while actually funding them. The reason I'm pointing this out is that an incident in Charlottesville, Virginia, where an extreme left-wing socialist mob went up against an extreme right-wing mob. A socialist was unfortunately killed in the ensuing fracas. Because Trump said at the time that both groups had probably crossed the line, he was excoriated worldwide for saying both groups had crossed the line, inferring that he's a racist, which he is not. Now we learn that the SPLC had given money to groups like the KKK. Again, believe what you will but more will be heard about the SPLC and its indictments. So, yes, I have the cheek to question you and your TDS-based assumptions. BTW, Iran is down and out. Trust me on that one! Trump is not looking for a way out; however, the IRGC & its Islamic regime is. No deal will be made until the nuclear "dust" is turned over. Finally, I live in a land of the FREE and home to the BRAVE! We have no king but duty and honor and respect for the laws of our nation are underpinned by our Judeo-Christian beliefs. Our 2nd amendment covers our right to bear arms. It has been challenged numerous times but still stands. We are coming up on our 250th birthday this JULY 4th. America stands more of a chance of speaking American English in the next 250 years, moreso than the land that gave us our language. What language will you be allowed to speak 50 to 100 years from now? Russian, Chinese, Farsi?

"Criticise the man and you are a commie ,socialist, lefty, queer ,weak , and more." No. you don't hear stuff like that from me. I'm just a bit tired of being called a Fascist by unhinged, projecting hypocrites. People who somehow haven't lost a single ounce of their massive quantity of sanctimony throughout it all. Of course I'm not talking about this bulletin board I rarely have time to post on anymore, but rather current life in general. And I'm sick of the terrifying violence they have unleashed on not only Republican politicians, but also people like Charlie Kirk, and even the Democrat Minnesota state legislator who dared to separate from her party on an abortion-related vote. And Union Jack, I do fully understand your disgust with his diplomacy skills. I don't like that about him either. He's right about the defensive importance of Greenland to North America, an issue that is now on a back burner. I don't know how Iran is going to end up, but he's usually been proven correct over time on most international issues, like the German incident Winston brought up. So I have to hope that maybe the military brains know what they are doing this time in meetings none of us Internet geniuses are privy to. [Post edited 28 Apr 6:04]

Thank you. In all things I try to be balanced. Football, politics, whatever. I'm prepared to consider opposing points of view. Quite often those points of view are idiotic and I'll say so, but I'll consider them. I dislike Trump for many of the same reasons that others do, but I've got no time for "TDS" as some call it. I'll give you another example. The outrage over the actions of Immigration & Customs Enforcement. These are federal officers enforcing federal law. Why have federal law if you're not going to bother enforcing it? Why are so many of those on the left unable to grasp that robustly enforced laws are a benefit to those who do not break them? I find Bill Maher to be an interesting character on stuff like this. He's a self professed Democrat with a well voiced loathing for Trump yet has no problem pointing out the idiocy of a lot of positions that the American Left takes up, and precisely why it deters the voters that they need to win back the White House.

Simple answer - we and the rest of the civilised world is shown a very narrow section of America so lots of people are given a warped view of what it is actually like and what the people think. Most news, tv shows, films and other media where we get a view of the United States either comes from or is set in New York, Washington and California. There’s the 3000 miles in the middle of smaller, more rural, quieter places that we very rarely see and the demographics are considerably different. It probably goes the other way too. The view a lot of Americans have of British people is we all sit around drinking tea and playing cricket in a big country house speaking very posh and wearing silly frocks.

I take my view of Americans from the many I meet on holiday every year and can clearly see how Trump gets voted in. To me the majority seem arrogant, loud and full of self importance, not very nice people at all. I much prefer Canadians who incidentally don't seem overly enamoured with our American friends either.

Can't say that was my experience in NY in February. Most seemed quite polite (apart from one bolshy hotel receptionist). The only person who voiced support for Trump was a Latino barman in an Irish pub who quite liked his approach to illegal migration.

In fairness, most Americans probably don't need to go abroad. Anything they could reasonably want from a holiday is available within their borders. Beaches, mountains, interesting cities, wildlife, stunning nature, entertainment etc. The only thing they haven't really got is history, which tends to be why most of them travel. Either that or retracing family roots.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Well they say travel broadens the mind which kind of backs up my point so I'll leave it there.

Suez proved many things about our “ special relationship “ Many Americans , most in fact, are insular because of the size of the country Don’t forget Wales is about the size of New Jersey Our lad goes to his HQ in Michigan near Detroit and is always amazed how ignorant many are Most though are polite to strangers

| With All The Guns In America on 14:02 - Apr 26 by Tummer_from_Texas | You assume a lot about Right wing Americans based on what the media tells you. The only ones who hate Trump are the actual Swamp members living in Washington DC - Donor Class, establishment Republicans who hate Trump for taking all their power within the party away and turning the GOP into a populist, working class party. Since 2016, Trump has maintained approval ratings among Republicans that beat even Reagan. See the end of Liz Cheney's political career, when she was defeated by 37 points in her re-election primary in 2022, as just one example. There would be plenty of others, but most other Trump-hating GOP politicians are smart enough to simply retire after they come out against him, rather than face the embarrassment of getting primaried. |
lets look after the november elections over there, the way he is/ has gone and broken promise after promise and is currently ruining the world i think the vast amount of people in the usa will come to their senses and put the controls back in place to curb this wanna be king and his cronies, but has to be done legaly no violence which history shows happened over ther not that long ago
