Yes but they won today so have effectively won the competition as well as the league. What a season they’re having🤫

Businesses get stung for insurance if they keep cash on the premises. Take a look at banks where there are any no night safes anymore.

| Swansea City v Birmingham City : The Indy match thread on 17:37 - Aug 8 by wwcigne | First half was great ,fast flowing attacking football, fast counter attacking, the only thing missing was the goal our bright play deserved I said to the bloke in front of me ‘ this is more like it , could get used to this , none of that sideways and back boring ambitionless crap we’ve served up the last few years’ When will I learn to keep my gob shut !!! Second half…….boring sideways and back ambitionless football we’ve seen for the last few years. !!!!! We’ve got a far stronger squad than we’ve had for many a year ……and our substitutions weakened us !! Birmingham play acted ,fouled and continually pushed anyone jumping for the ball squarely in the back ,wasted time and the ref happily let them do it but best of all we were penalised for offside in our own half !!!! Back to our subs , Fulton and Stamenic looked like they were re-enacting the Fulton / Grimes ‘to me to you ‘ pointless rubbish from the past And please stop the aimless and dodgy short time and ambition sapping goal kick routine………..just get the bloody ball forward I was looking forward to a celebratory few beers tonight, instead the beer will be to calm my frustration and temper after watching that second half Please Vitor sort it out out ,we are so much better than that |
I think the offside rule is that the restart can be taken from where the offside player interferes with play including their own half.

| Swansea City v Birmingham City : The Indy match thread on 19:36 - Aug 8 by Joesus_Of_Narbereth | He was already assuming the traditional official position of escaped goat on here and elsewhere on the internet. Perhaps a break will do him good and fans will start to appreciate him. |
Is there anything to appreciate in Burgess. Good at clearances but absolutely atrocious on the ball. Find me 1 match where he hasn't fallen over or badly miss passed a ball. He will have 1 year left on his contract if he is out fo the season when he returns. As it expires in 2027. At 30 he isn't in his peak he is only going downhill.

He's in A&E and out for a while. We are about to find out just how good he is. Our only leader is out. Look at that last 10 minutes today if you want to know what lies ahead. Season over.

Not to start a debate. But I presume this comment came with a sense of humor? He might of played every minute last season, but if we are relying on Burgess to win or at least the club to have a successful season then we really have issues. I can only see a positive in replacing him.

Maybe I'm too ruthless But being a nice guy isn't gonna get this team up the table. I understand Matos might see him adding some form of experience to the club, but how can any player look at him and look to be like him on the field? Again maybe I'm being extreme, but every match he messes up. He does it internationally and does it with us. Just an awful player. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

He’s limited No debate unless one is a forum preening jerk It’s about our club not him He will be ok and get better treatment thst most of the punters trying bro “ support “ him It’s sickening really We need a more solid defence I’m hoping Welsh will shape up

If Lissah plays there then that leaves Key to RB. The issue you have there, who competes for that spot? So we either get another RB or we have Welsh in for Burgess and either way we need another addition. Welsh is seen as the good passer, but his defense might be lacking. But it might compliment Cabango. We need to try something different.
| Swansea City v Birmingham City : The Indy match thread on 20:08 - Aug 8 with 3079 views | Dr_Winston | Meh. A glorified pre-season friendly that the usual suspects are already opening their veins over. Thought there was a lot to like in the first half but we lost our way a bit in the second. Typical early August fayre. My concerns haven't really been assuaged, and a few people who might have been written off as squad filler have perhaps shown that assessment might be a bit early, but overall nothing to get in a tizz about. | |

| Swansea City v Birmingham City : The Indy match thread on 08:37 - Aug 8 by KeithHaynes | What a shameful experience. This is where the club need to work harder. Is there a cash point in there ? it’s the least the club could do. And take off any charge if buying merchandise or tickets. This is where the club lacks ideas, the basics are not hard. |
Very few stadiums take cash now. Regards a cash point in the shop, you would need a card to withdraw the cash, so wouldn't solve the problem.

My main concern is that I'm not fussed on Burgess and Cabango as a combination. With the injury we'll see if we have a better combination with Cabango.

Hard agree. I don't think either of them are good enough. Cabango gets an easier ride because he's a youth product, but we can't depend on the two of them together. Fate has put the kibosh on that and maybe Welsh will step up and make a difference.

I remember getting pumped out of the league cup by Shrewsbury when we were in the premier league. Still had a great season and played some superb stuff. Today was basically a friendly. The real stuff starts next week. |
It was a cup game and should have been treated as such

The same cup we won not many years ago, and went on to have a fantastic European run in.

I would have thought Swindon would have taken quite a few fans too considering it’s 3 stops on the train.
