Flags at Home Games 17:16 - Aug 23 with 3288 viewsAber_Jack

A couple of supporters have been in touch with me since the Leeds game on Tuesday regarding their flags they usually put in various locations around the East and NE Stands. We usually put one up in front of where we sit in the East Upper with no real issue and have done for the past 3 years or so.

With the new Trade Centre Wales advert boards going up before Tuesday's game stewards were telling anyone who tried that it simply wasn't happening over any areas of wording or logos etc! That did not leave a lot of remaining space and definately nothing in close proximity to us!

I will see if I can get a response from the club to see how they are prepared to get round this but it would be useful beforehand if anyone else who experienced a similar problem to us on Tuesday can let me know on here or email me on dave.dalton@swanstrust.co.uk so that I can add it to the others who have been in touch with me?

Thanks

Somebody pinched our flag spot in the NE upper front row.

Be nice if the club made areas free for flags to be displayed

It’s nice to see flags on display, but you are right the advertisements are increasing the commercial revenue. If I was paying for an advertisement I wouldn’t want it obscured by a flag.

I wholeheartedly agree that advertisers should not have their adverts covered. The issue that the two particular fans raised with me as a fellow flag holder was that they now have very few areas remaining in which to put up their flags and it appears there is now not enough to meet demand.

Hopefully this wont be the case but time will tell over the coming weeks.

The Trade Centre Wales adverts did make me smile - whoever designed them clearly didn't decide to test the space they had to work with first - resulting in the SE corner cutting off and there being a gap in the middle where the camera is.

Good though to see he global head of partnerships has progressed from Skewen to Neath. Soon I wonder if we may reach Bridgend

I sit in the back row, if I grew to the size of a large flag, thus obstructing the adverts, would I have my season ticket confiscated?

You will have to get there earlier to put that Union Jack up.

Point of order, Skewen is in Neath, and TCW is in Skewen / Neath Abbey.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

I agree with Gary jack.

‘Without the fans, then football is nothing’.

For the record, even i prefer the single UJ flag (that we normally see) to TradeCentreWales or other such bollox.

So .....somebody in the club traded the visibility of our own fans flags for about £12.50, no doubt without telling the Trust. That decision needs to change. Pronto.

Beware of the Risen People
