£500 and I’ll sign and send you the undercrackers I was wearing for the Stoke game. I haven’t changed them since so you’d be getting extra culture for you cash. A bargain really!

I never ever realised they charged so much. I always thought it was actors out to show appreciation and kindness to the fanatical fan base that specific genres like Sci-Fi tended tended to have. A case of giving a little back.
Yes I used to think money was motivation to attend but thought it was seen as more of an incidental perk than a downright cash grab. It looks to be all about money and money only.

It's how a lot of the Z-list types make a living these days.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

With what they're charging? Beats treading the boards and memorising sh1t loads of lines for a play at some provincial theatre.
I know Caroline Munro used to do the Sci-Fi/horror genre autograph circuit. Well worth a scribble in her heyday.
I guess it's like the whole mascot pricing debate. If people are willing to pay top dollar, then why charge less?
If the people paying do so happily, then I don't have a problem with it.

Not sure if I've told this story but a relative was a big fan of William Shatner aka Captain Kirk. He also really liked the programme Boston Legal so for his 50th birthday I thought we'd get him a signed photo of Shatner and James Spader.
I couldn't find a "signed" photo of them anywhere but did find one of them together on the set of Boston Legal on eBay. So.... for a joke I signed one of the names and my wife the other. We thought everyone would find it funny.....that was until we went to their house the next year and saw it now had a frame and pride of place. Fortunately nobody brought the photo up in conversation. Eight years later and we still haven't had the heart to tell them
I used to help organise a SciFi convention some years back. There was no thought of charging for autos / photos, the only cost was your time waiting in a queue

What's the difference here between someone paying say £50 for an autograph and a photo and some Swans fan paying 4/5 times that amount for an "experience" match day mascot package?
