An absolute treasure trove.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Should be some good stuff in their archives.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

Unfortunately it's not directly accessible by the public - not yet, anyway.

What a fantastic speaker. I watched this earlier on the bog (just three wipes, no bulk folding) and read up on this guy, apparently after surviving the titanic he got a job on another ship that hit a sunken reef off the Faroe Islands and he had to jump for his life again. But he kept working at sea well into the 1940’s. I think I would give seafaring a miss after all that personally.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Love stuff like this. I must have spent hundreds of hours watching British pathe videos on YouTube. They are all fantastic.

Titanics owners, White Star line, stopped paying the boats staff that survived from the moment it sank, a few were even dis-owned by their families for not doing their duty

Yeah there was one officer that got on one of the lifeboats, he had all sorts of abuse because you were meant to go down with your ship. Society shunned him completely, he was unable to get another job and ended up killing himself.

Go down with your ship....how stupid are people! I thought that was just the captain though?
There'll be stuff in their archives they won't be allowed to broadcast these days, shame.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Yes, they couldn't possibly show the multi-coloured Minstrel shows.
Or quite a few comedy shows either.

Why would anyone want to watch that cr*p anyway?

It was cringe worthy even in the 70s.
