They need to shoot whoever decided to sign him, waste of a wage

Thats the truth. On day one people were pointing this out. The length of contract for an injury prone player was super optimistic at best, or a bit dull some might say.

He was a catastrophe signing who is making a decent living out of being injured. It is all about our club and he is doing nothing for it. Not his fault? Tough. We aint a charity. He can retrain to be a Plumber although it's a physical job and not sure how he would stand up to the strains of a real job. One whose contract we should have ripped up long ago.

I do not know too much about injuries but I believe the player himself has some responsibility to look after himself in terms of keeping nimble, stretching diet, rest, alcohol intake etc. Giggs and Bellamy took charge of their own regines and got a few extra years. A one year deal would have been appropriate with an appearance clause for an extra year given his injury woes.

The comments here are all about our clubs recruitment, not the player himself. I am sure we all wish he was ripping up the Championship and we were praising our recruitment team. We do have the right to comment though.

Yes you're right but the human body is a complex machine. Elite athletes often suffer hamstring injuries - players such as Michael Owen and our very own Jefferson Montero were an example. So frustrating for the player and the fans. Liam Walsh has suffered the same. Unfortunately prolonged spells of injuries often lead to further serious injuries. Hope the lad recovers soon and can get his career back on track

Like signing Ogbeta without him having a medical. As OHL says ... madness.

Sorry, just read that. Ogbeta signed without a medical ! I would have thought that illegal. If not it should be Have we asked just why that happened . Maybe our coach could explain him being honest a man.

I understand that he was signed so close to the deadline that there wasn't enough time.

Or he could have just signed to late in the window for a medical to be completed.

He had an injury free season on loan at Coventry, before we signed him

How many times did he play there? Did Ogbeta really nt have a medical? I thought the signing could be made subject to a medical being satisfactorily completed, I've seen that in the past where a signing has failed because a medical was failed the day after a window has shut, I'm sure I have. If we really signed Ogbeta with no medical then it's no wonder there was a sacking.

33 games and scored 4 goals, we gambled and lost

| Liam Walsh on 12:41 - Sep 3 with 1376 views | jasper_T | Ogbeta didn't have a history of injuries but he pulled up in his last game for Shrewsbury and was taken off as a precaution, so we knew he was carrying something. Then in his first training session with us the hamstring went. Medicals aren't a legal requirement they're about insurance and clubs doing their due diligence. It's rarely a good idea to sign someone without having tests done, but if you know there are issues but still want the player there's nothing stopping you. [Post edited 3 Sep 2022 12:42]

Exactly, not the best advised move with the money involved in modern day football. Charlie Austin failed numerous medicinals, QPR an example, didn’t stop him though. Going back years ago Asa Hartford great name for a player with a hole in his heart. Never stopped him either.
