Cooper clearly undervalued the player. He could have been a snip for Swansea to buy. Goykeres was raw and it was Cooper's job to mould him into an effective player.

It is worrying that under Cooper and Martin we have had several players, either on loan or ones we have signed, that just haven't fiited the bill as far as the manager is concerned.

Came to us and looked awful, went to Coventry and didn’t get regular starts for them either.
He’s had a decent season since he landed with them permanently, but anyone pretending he was worthy of a starting place in that season are off the head at best, complete revisionists at worst.
Some players need a permanent home to settle and aren’t suited to short term loans, he may be one such player.
As an aside, nobody is paying £20m for him, not even half. Price tags are one thing, actual value is another - I can put a £50m price tag on my toe nail clippings for example. |  |

He had the Itay Shechter about him that’s for sure.
When he left us, he went to Coventry on loan.
He was available for 23 games for them.
played 19 times, scored 3.
He started the first 3 and then got dropped to the bench for the rest of the season until the final few games where they started him again. 6 in total.
He was always one for the future, not to be started that season as Coventry also agreed. | |

That being the case, reading some of the judgements of someone not even having enough minutes to really show himself(most minutes came from the bench) really highlights how fickle and judgemental fans can be........the only thing worse is fans scrapping for excuses.

The title states Swansea City cast off!
The truth was he was never given a fair chance with us in the 1st place and the odd few minutes here and there from the bench is hardly something a fan should judge him on.
He performed prior to joining us albeit in the Swedish and German keagues and given a chance after leaving us has performed! He needed his chance and he got it.......we missed the boat with him but that's football and we move on. | |
