| Russ 17:23 - Apr 2 with 4183 views | owainglyndwr | Now I know its a minefield but Russ has pulled off 2 blinders against our nearest rivals, On top of that the player obviously want to play for him | | | | |
| Russ on 17:44 - Apr 2 with 3115 views | KeithHaynes | There’s a spirit within that squad that very few know about. Added to that Martin’s intent to play our way out of the league but supporting the owners ethos on player trading, it could be the long wait will prove positive. People will get it one day.

Probably more, but the internet I’ve found over time is no real reflection of the actual belief.

Indeed, loving the result, but still want him gone.
| Russ on 20:32 - Apr 2 with 2784 views | Dr_Parnassus | A truly awful manager, beating Cardiff doesn’t change that. It just showed the quality of squad he’s got at his disposal. Piroe is a unicorn in this league, Ntcham coming back from Cameroon duty, Cooper, Pato, Cullen, Darling, Welsh International Cabango, England U21 Wood, Wales legend Allen, Grimes, one of the best full backs in the league in Manning, Fulton etc etc It’s a travesty that under his stewardship he simply guides us to a poor bottom half finish, and people pretend it’s good. Some players want to play for him (this is the case with all managers), it’s the astonishing amount that don’t that is the concern. He’s only been here 2 seasons and has had more tiffs than an Eastenders Xmas special. Time to move on. | |

| Russ on 21:36 - Apr 2 with 2680 views | Dr_Parnassus | First season: We wrote that season off according to a few, transition season etc. Second season: We transitioned from 15th to 15th, one would think the initial transition nonsense was just that all along, nonsense. It was a time buying exercise as stated at the time. It’s not good enough. Beating some bottom half teams now and again really shouldn’t be deflecting from this fact. Too many excuses. | |

He is head coach not a manager. Just look at how many of his players, across all levels and nationalities, were away on international duty last week. Something right must be going on.

I did think earlier in the season that perhaps he'd lost the changing room but I no longer believe for a moment that's true , what ever his faults and tactical nous or perhaps lack of, the players have bought into him and his philosophy

International callups surely reflect the players available to national associations far more than they do the managers of the clubs involved. If Russy was doing so well with all these Internationals then perhaps we wouldn't be fifteenth in the table.

You have scored 30 in 38 games and are above the bottom 3 on goal difference that's quite funny

Based on what? If that was the case we would be top 6. I was extremely happy under one of my bosses in my early 20’s, terrible manager for the company though, lots of days off for us and perks - the results of the company probably reflected that. But he was a great guy and excellent for morale. Always got resounding praise when any of the guys were asked because having him as the boss meant an easy ride. We all know the talent of the players we have at our disposal. If they had bought in to a system that works, we wouldn’t be 15th every year. Unless we accept they have bought into a system knowing it doesn’t work, which raises further questions than it would answer.

Based on my opinion of how players have reacted , I did point out in my post is apparent lack of tactical nous , perhaps you missed it

But what do you mean by “reacted”? Reacted to what? We are where we were this time last season.

Much of our current position is down to individual mistakes by players that needs to be sorted out, if possible. With Fisher, I am not so sure it can.

Who took one look at Benda and decided that we needed to spend the thick end of half a million on Fisher? The players are making so many mistakes precisely because the way we play puts them under so much pressure. It invites errors. Despite being well aware of this RM refuses to change. On Saturday we did our usual thing of sitting back for the last half an hour and threw away a two goal lead as a result. I suspect the reaction around here would be vastly different if we hadn't lucked out.

As usual you bring it down and look on the negative side of things. Yes RM did go negative BUT after they scored the equaliser we went positive and had a few chances to get a winner even before we cabango scored. Hopefully this result and the positivity that has come from it will spur us on to finish the season strongly, my worry is do the board back Martin or sack him, whatever happens it won't ruin my summer.

Why not just stay positive in the first place? Surely if our back line is a bit flaky the best approach is to keep the ball as far away as possible from our box, not invite it there. Time and time again he does it. Nine times out of ten it costs us.

Fisher was Martins first acquisition. Only a clown or a liar can say he is not costing us points. This has been the case from day 1. His defenders clearly are nervous with him behind 5ns m. The stick that Cabango has had has often gone unchallenged .this kid saved our day and gave Russ his day in the sun. For negative read realistic . Winston and I are not chums ,by the way but he is bang on the money here .
