The OP raising this issue resolved around the WOMEN'S team not the whole club.
The WOMEN'S Team do not play in the English leagues and neither do Cardiff or Wrexham.
The women's team
a) Play in the Genaro Adran Premier b) Almost all the Swansea players are Welsh qualified c) Coverage is in Welsh on S4C d) A significant portion of the players speak Welsh i would think. e) It strengthens an independent identity

Surely he means across the board.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
Despite the poll result changing the whole club to Dinas Abertawe would not be popular with the majority. The women's team that is a different matter. Because the men's and women's team have the same name confusion can arise.
"Swansea sign new striker" could mean a man or a woman. "Abertawe sign striker" means only the Women's team. I use Newsnow Swansea city and regularly see these headlines thinking Piroe's replacement has arrived only to discover it is Stacey Morgans from Risca Utd.
This poll actually shows how opinions can be skewed by 'activists'. The people that care vote and the majority do not. This is how minority groups can end up calling the shots for example in both the Labour and Conservative parties

Votes are carefully screened.

You can love Wales and the UK at the same time. I do it is great. In sport I want England to lose because that is the nature of sport. I do not want UK plc to fail because of my pension.
Swansea women should be Dinas Abertawe with no gender notification tag required.
