Worrying scenes of mass shop-lifting and civil disturbances in Clapham. It is hard to avoid the conclusion that there is a racial or ethnic dimension.

Press coverage kept to a minimum and also very little on the Rochdale incident. Pictures from Clapham confirm your thoughts.

There’s loads of coverage UJ. It’s for the last two days it’s been a pretty high up in all the major newspapers.

An awful event that hopefully will see the footage lead to further aressts.

That idiot barrister on about London though 🤣

Have they taken out insurance and booked their funerals?

As for the lawyer, it took me a while to realise he’s not a parody.

The Clapham one to an extent maybe but I’ve not seen much on the Rochdale incident. Of course, they’d may have more time to report such issues if they didn’t spend so much time on this Artemis II mission. Jeez, man went to the moon and landed on it in 1969, it’s not as if it’s the first time!!

I dont live and a million miles away from Clapham.

The centre of London is brilliant but come out of the centre a bit and it can be pretty lawless sometimes.

Clapham was never like this 35-40 years ago. Hell I used to go drinking and eating there regularly safe as houses...It does however back onto the Coldharbour Lane estate and the less salubrious parts of Brixton and Stretham

Yes we had the Brixton an Tottenham riots in the 80s but that had been simmering for months and was about police intimidation...

These widespread mob uprisings are different in they are organised online to rob and riot for the sheer hell of it...

It will get edited out of the official crime figures I'm sure as that what Khan's Londinium does - obsfuscate...

I'm glad our poster Gwyn avoided this unpleasantmess on his recent visit but this is a growing trend - London , despite massaged stats, is becoming a hellhole

I know it you know it and you know the reasons for it

No need to be gaslit.

Just go there and not be taken in by those in the media who love to bash Britain.

Just wish Police were intimidating now when they are cowardly political stooges
They disgust me frankly
So much goes on that the public know nothing about
I saw this coming 30 yrs ago so it’s no surprise but the escalation into apathy has been astonishing
Nobody should be surprised
Us or them
That simple

That is true WR

I think Swansea and other parts of Wales as an example are about 15-20 years behind ....

People think "okay there are issues with mass migration but where's the major problem?"

It will come, in growing numbers the same problems will come...and many will change their tune frantically trying to get the lock back on the gate...

I can never understand how all these families fresh off the boat with no capital and very little education/qualifications can live in one of the worlds most expensive cities unless they are being heavily subsidised by the taxpayer? The price of rent there alone for even the tiniest box room would prevent most of this countries population to even consider moving there. Yet some areas are 80% “black and ethic minority”.

We have been taken for mugs. It’s a farcical situation really.

Clearly what’s happened in Clapham is completely unacceptable and it needs to be dealt with firmly. By and large most people are decent and law abiding, but there is an element everywhere that needs a firm hand. We had youngsters kicking off and causing riots in Swansea a few years ago.

In inner city London there is simply more scum
And in many cases the majority are not law abiding

No I'd like to know what the "online social trends" that triggered them were before apportioning blame. Clapham is about 60% afro Carribbean whereas Rochdale 70% white and 20% Asian. That's quite ethnically diverse.

Society is on its knees, I'd quite like it not to be, so perhaps looking for the cause rather than distractions is a good idea.

You don't have to be "fresh off the boat" to experience those disadvantages.

Similarly I know several people (white, Welsh)who've barely worked a day in their lives, but have a better car and more foreign holidays than me.

We are being taken for mugs, but not by people "fresh off the boat".

You know what I mean though, whether it’s people on benefits or big families recently immigrated here they get given big 5+ bedroom houses to live in in parts of the country where the properties for everyone else would be completely unaffordable.

There really is no benefit to going out to work 50 hours a week. I’m on decent ish money but I could never dream of buying a house in London. Yet millions get these luxuries for free. It’s no wonder there’s such a feeling of tension and injustice in the country and people are swinging to the extremes with reform/greens etc. There will come a breaking point.

Genuinely they don't get much for free, they almost certainly live cheeky to Jowl in a HMO owned by a multimillionaire, most likely bought to dodge tax. In London there's a good chance they are from Russia or China. Any money from the state pretty much goes straight to them. This includes asylum seeker hotel contracts set up by the last government to help their donors.

The right facilitate this the left live on some sort of Dreamland where this can be eliminated. And nobody looks more than 5 years in to the future.

There needs to be a massive change at both ends of the social spectrum, but nobody who can do anything about it does anything about it. They just blame each other.

As a worker in a supermarket chain , do you challenge these shopliflters and risk a spit in the face , syringe attack or a concealed Stanley knife attack on staff doing their job .

Plod put shoplifting at the lower end of their get to incidents asap and it will continue .
