It's that time of year when people are feeling the pinch of possibly overstretching themselves financially for Xmas that the çunts behind their keyboards /phones try to prey on the vulnerable. Just got a text now after I opened my 5th beer promising me £267.78 , and I thought "çunts will snare a few who are pissed and skint"

HMRC scam texts/emails on 20:56 - Jan 11 with 2105 views
I have had these regularly and ll get 'phished, another one is the phone calls telling you a HMRC warrant will be issued in your name if you do not press 1 now to connect to an agent and pay your bill, they get ignored but far too many fall for them.
I get so many of these and they must catch so many people out. The latest round of scams i've been getting regularly are ones saying they've recorded me through my webcam (I don't have a webcam), watching porn, and if I don't send them $800 within 24 hours in bitcoin they'll release it to all my contacts.
Never click on any links in emails/texts/messages from people you are not familiar with.
There is a programmer who livestreams on Twitch, 6 days a week, running rings around these scammers over the phone, playing different characters, and it's hilarious to watch.

Been watching his videos on Youtube for a while now. Some of his videos with 'Microsoft' scammers in India are brilliant.
On the subject of scams......Tell your elderly relatives to NEVER give personal banking details over the phone to a company even if it sounds genuine. Double check everything. If possible do a 1471 phone number search and follow through with a Companies House search. A close elderly relative of mine fell victim to an attempted con from extremely devious scum claiming to be the personal household boiler insurance provider offering (bogus!) over payment rebate.
Suspicion was raised and alarm bells rang i.e. if the company was the genuine provider why would it ask for banking information, especially when that information would have to be on database record to take direct debits anyhow?
The low-life scum was called 'Protect Your Home Limited'. What further raised questions with myself was the number of directorships and dissolved/resignation outcomes of its two directors.

Yet another email scam claiming to be from HMRC today. Promising a tax refund. Two obvious giveaways a email address ending .be and American date formats.

You can forward those emails to HMRC and it helps them shut them down, they'll never get rid of all of them though
