Went over the Co-op on Friday for a bag of self-raising and the shelf was bare.
The bloke behind the counter told me they had been cleaned out of flour because there was a rumour that everyone would be singing the Welsh national anthem on bank holiday Monday night and the Welsh speakers wanted to bake Welsh cakes to add to the feel good atmosphere...

It's the same in this neck of the woods. Two weeks ago Tesco was still opening at 6am here so you could go in and I managed to get plain flour and bread flour.
