Swansea City’s greatest players in the Premier League 12:31 - Mar 17 with 1326 viewsKeithHaynes

Obviously spending one relegated season in the premier league at a time like some teams would void this thread, spending seven doesn't.

For me Michu, a lot of people’s choice I’m sure. But ‘greatest players’ fits many categories.
I’ll add Fabianski.

For effectiveness,Siggi all day long.

Michu was too short a stay but provided wonderful moments. His career ending was tragic

Ashley too fronted up .

Bony on his day

Fab had his flaky moments but his loss is felt more than any other player we have ever had.

From our spanish collection I would also go with Llorente, my word he could head a ball.

It was all too fleetinh. At first he looked like a small barge turning but his goal at Anfield will live with me. I was very near to him as he came over to the away fans to celebrate.
I might have made an obscene suggestion to him but he didnt take me up on the offer

Looking at our stay overall, the two stand outs for me are Fabs and Gylfi.

Fabianski had an extensive spell where he would refuse to come and collect simple high balls which led to goals and would let a long shot slip under his body and into our goal every month or so.

Vorm was far more consistent.

Michu, Pablo, Fabs, Dyer, Bony mk1, Chico, Rangel, Leo, Ash. If it had to be one, it would be Michu, simply the best I've seen, that includes Curt and Robbie.

Some truth in that first paragraph but he improved and was terrific for us.

Vorm IMO utterly overated and nowhere near as good a Fab,but better than De Vries another overated keeper.

That said,De Vries and Vorm are 100 times better than what we have now

Michu was prety much a one season wonder, I'll blame the manager for not sorting out the injury problem, keeping on playing him AND letting him keep smashing the hoardings with his dodgy foot!

Saying Premier league rules out Curt technically I guess.

Leon, Rangel, Fab

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I’d say the usual Michu, Chico, Ash, Angel, Fab, Dyer, Gylfi and add the following under the heading “They Had Their Moments”:

De Guzman, Routs, Neil Taylor, Ben Davies, Montero, yes and, Shelvey and Ki - all provided memories of great moments in Premier League matches. Montero taking the Arsenal full back apart, Ki scoring a cracker at Man Utd, Routs ‘s volley at home against WBA (?), Shelvey saving the day at Fulham and again at Soton with late goals. Great days.

Neil Taylor one the luckiest footballers I have ever seen to play as many games he did...not the best

He was far better than any left back we have at the club right now.

DeGuzman was, is and probably always will be the most underappreciated player of our time in the PL. To think that Jenkins was gagging to replace him with Ki.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I agree about De Guzman a very talented footballer who regularly got stick on PS.

Personally I thought Ki was pretty decent as well although not the type player you need in the trenches.

Seven seasons in the Premier League across two clubs. Bidwell and Manning will do well to spend the rest of their careers playing in The Championship.

Taylor was poor going forward, however I'd much rather have a left back turn back and retain the ball than hoof it aimlessly to the opposition goalkeeper at the sign of minimal pressure.

Neil Taylor was a far superior left back than Bidwell or Manning ever were or ever will be.

Bidwell and Manning are very decent Championship wing backs. Neither are very good full backs in a back four.
Taylor was a competent Premier league full back operating in a back four. He couldn't play wing back at any level to save his life.

Comparisons are ridiculous, they don't play in the same position.

Taylor was underrated by some of our fans. He was a competent Premier League fullback.

We’re at a different level now and both Bidwell and Manning are absolutely fine as wingbacks. I’m think they’d be fine at the lower end of the PL too. Left back would be one of the positions that concerned me least if we went up.

De Guzman came to the club only a few weeks before Ki and had not played any serious games in that period. De Guzman was on loan and ki a player bought by the club but not a Laudrup pick. Ki was the club's record signing attht time.

There's turning back to keep possession and turning back as your notbraveor good enough to put a pass in and overlap for return or even when overlap in great position try and beat their full back or put first time ball in..always turned back because never had it in his locker
