| Have Brentford got the bottle ? on 15:28 - May 23 with 1653 views | Thornburyswan | They could win it comfortably & if they go ahead early & snatch a second before we respond it could be 3/4 (we have no way of doing that) however if we stay in it & particularly if they feel decisions are going against them they might blow up. For any egg chaser followers they are a tad like the French, on their game almost unbeatable at this level but can get frustrated & beat themselves. If we played this game ten times I’d expect maybe a couple of wins/draws & six defeats. | | | |
| Have Brentford got the bottle ? on 15:34 - May 23 with 1651 views | Catullus | Having seen what they did to Bournemouth, yes they do. I like the comparison with French rugby though, if Brentford have an off day they could beat themselves as much as anything we do. | |

| Have Brentford got the bottle ? on 17:45 - May 23 with 1533 views | jackrabbit | My golfing pal is a Brentford s/t holder and he is in a permanent state of low expectation and inevitable disappointment. Brentford have blown promotion opportunities on more than one occasion, so their belief mechanisms are somewhat strained. In contrast to Swans they have had a dire time against Barnsley this season. My pal admits Barnsley’s in-yer-face intense pressure does not sit well with Brentford. Could be the signal for more hoofball from us on Saturday. I sincerely hope not. But if Swans start to get on top, Brentford’s fragility could show through. It’s going to be a fascinating game. Wish I could be there. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

100%. It’s not really hoofball, you can’t do that without a targetman, but if you mean frustrating them rather than going toe to toe in an open game, that’s absolutely what we should be doing. Long term, the style of football is important to me, in a one off game to reach the PL, I couldn’t care less how dire we are to watch.

...hopefully the referee would have made a massive mistake giving it, it was a dive worse than we've ever seen and that long-haired girl who manages them gets a red card for his totally justified complaining ...if Carlsberg made play-off finals

Let’s hope their players have the same sense of entitlement as their cocky fans.
| Have Brentford got the bottle ? on 21:21 - May 23 with 1267 views | Dr_Winston | Probably best not to tempt fate. Brentford are better going forward than we are. They're not managed by Steve Cooper so it would be hard not to be. However we are capable of keeping them out and nicking one so it's everything to play for. Fingers crossed for a win, but it ain't going to be easy. | |

I did have a laugh at that, when they were at Griffin park it had a capacity less than 13000 and they couldn't fill that. Thousands from all over the country You know it might finally be their year and I could be ok with that if they weren't being such a bunch of big headed, entitled A swipes. Lets face it, the most success they've had is in the "Supporters direct Cup" winning it in 04 and 08! They've had one season in the top flight in 1935/36 SO maybe they are due. Enjoy your second season Brentford (if it happens) because it could be a long time until your third!

That's not what happened up there the last time. I believe they gave some of our lads a hard time.

Nor will it be pretty As a football team, they are simply better than us. As a dogged cohesive set of stubborn bastards, less so. If we hang on until 35 mins and then pinch a goal, we will be favourites. Even 1-0 down at an hour I reckon we are the most likely as the psychology plays to our team psyche. If it gets to 2-0 down, I think we'll be humped.

Good summary that Mon, not sure I’d be as confident if we go 1 down but the longer it stays a messy borefest the better as far as we are concerned & if we were to go 1 behind we have to get the next goal otherwise we could get spanked.
