The case for capital punishment... 18:05 - Oct 8 with 2037 viewsLohengrin

Reading this made me feel physically sick. I’d quite happily apply the halter and drop the floor myself, it wouldn’t give me a second’s pause.

Those against capital punishment are more passionate than those opposed.Otherwise,we 'd be seeing demos to restore it.Never had we had much in that regard ;more in favour of emasculating Police .

That we allow scum like this to live stains us all. It is an affront to what we should hold dear;the right to a life not been taken away by anger, lust or hate or greed or simply depravity.

They didn’t miss it. The grandmother alerted social services and the police.

I'd pull the lever for sure.

Yes, I read the article.

"After children's services saw Arthur on April 17, 'no concerns were raised', and while photos of the bruises were sent to the police, no further action was taken, Mr Hankin told the jury".

I'd argue they missed what was going on.

Personally the punishment should be a life of turmoil to be endured by the scum who are proven beyond all doubt that they committed these hideous crimes, hanging them takes seconds they then die and cease to exist just like everyone else who dies so they are no worse off are they.

They catastrophically failed in their duty. They didn’t miss a situation that was highlighted to them.

I'd have a moments pause because hanging is too good for them. They deserve to endure some of their own medicine first.

Put them in prison in general population until they are begging for the noose.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Why should we have to pay to keep them warm, dry and fed?
Plus some do-gooder in the future will get them parole.

Becaus
People say that a society is judged as to how it treats its prisoners.Inhumane conditions are the concern of several bodies. Many people worry about their human rights.
Many people want to help them
There is more help for prisoners than there is for their victims.

I just read some of it, its unbelievable what they both did to the poor lad, a quick death by execution is to good for them, eaten alive by a pack of Hyenas sounds a good idea though.

Those who append views like this are normally ritually slaughtered by those vehemently against it seeing their view as the most moral and humane.
Mistakes are made and with the scum ,bent ,corrupt police investigating one can never be sure if guilty or not.

David Morris would have been rotting in his grave by now or floating in the dust bowl in the sky;many believe he was innocent.

This is the argument

I started reading and couldn’t go on. Any crime against the vulnerable and defenceless is a crime against humanity. Regrettably I don’t have children so I can’t believe any father could even conceive doing anything like that to his own flesh and blood.

I’m going to have to disagree - lock them both up in solitary confinement with just a sh*t bucket for company. Plaster the cells interior with photographs of that little boy so they can be reminded every waking day of the horror they committed. I’m a big fan of restorative justice - perhaps a short period with the child’s natural mother's family members might enable the perpetrators to have a little bit of empathy with what that boy went through. Not to be killed - that’s way way to easy a way out.

Oh I so wish you weren't ignoring me.

The argument is WHATEVER the crime,we ahve to show we are better and more humane than killers and evil like this.

Those who advocate STATE MURDER-as it is scripted, are often hun out to dry as being not much better morally.

I think shooting these vile monsters is far too easy a way out.
Torture
market square
The family and friends
vegetable peeler
salt and vinegar
Acid
Take your pick, live stream it for extra horror.
Will more than likely act as a deterrent for future monsters and might make them think twice.

I never mentioned to keep them warm and dry, I said give them a life of turmoil hanging is to quick it is over in no time, just make there life unbearable they will then probably die in the not to distant future anyway, so we will not have to pay for them for years as we do now, just make sure there existence is awful for them.

That would be great fun, never going to happen though.

There always seems a cast of doubt these days, I was gobsmacked last week, fella caught red handed with a loaded shotgun on 24 hours in police custody, did a no comment interview. Went to crown court, found not guilty, alright if you are a criminal, but our legal system is a joke.

I find myself becoming more liberal on the subject of the death penalty as I get older. Whilst I certainly believe that it should remain an option for the criminal justice system, I don't believe that it should be used often. However, in the absence of more frequent Capital punishment, whole life tariffs should be the norm rather than a rarity.

A case like Wayne Couzens for example. I fervently believe that he should be kept alive and in misery for as long as medical science can maintain his existence.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Being found not guilty has nothing to do innocence. It is a decision of lay man and women in a Jury to hear learned chums go at it hammer and tongs and the best speaker most often wins. A game .

True, the prosecuting barrister for the police looked really peed off, it was two separate incidents first was violent disorder 6 charged, then more after that, take a look at the show from last Monday. Chicken something it was called.
