Wolf's response 22:05 - Jul 11 with 2637 viewsCatullus

Now then, martin said Wold wanted to stay but Wolf says that wasn't the case,

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/

The pertinent part is,
"But following his return to Germany, Wolf stated he always expected to stay with Borussia Mönchengladbach after his stint in south Wales. "I didn't have that thought," he told Gladbach Live when asked if he considered extending his stay with the Swans. "I agreed to this loan to get practice and confidence. I've always been aware that I'll go back to Borussia"

So that makes Martin a liar. Why do it, why tell the fans these things if they are not true? I'm not bothered really, not by Wolf because I didn't want him back, I think we can do better for the money we would spend on another loan for him plus, his loan prevents our youngsters getting a chance. Martin lying to us though, not great.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Perhaps Wolf told Martin he would like to stay.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

In which case, Wolf is lying because he said he "never had that thought"

In almost all these cases I assume it is the player not the manager who is in the wrong. Firstly managers are usually smarter than players and have to remember things better like promises and selections. Secondly players will say what they need to say to get a contract.

What has happened here is very clear. The writing was on the wall when the manager was sacked so potentially Wolf needed to find somewhere to play. Swansea was good to him but second division.

Farke turns up and tells him he is valued by him. "Auf wiedersehen Swains see".

The OP has form I am afraid.

I wouldn’t expect him to tell his paymasters that he didn’t want to come back.

Could you imagine if one of our youngsters didn’t show the ambition to break into the first team

A liar! What a totally ott post, who knows what was said in private between the both, now he's back in Germany he's hardly going to say he wants to leave

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

This is one sentence from a translated interview with a paper focussing on his parent club. Of course he’s going to say he wants to get back on focus on the club that holds his contract. Huge leap to suggest RM has lied.

Farke or Martine -a no-brainer. And btw - we shoulda got Farke when he Farked-off out of Krasnodar, Russia - as per AndyCole thread.................

Doesn't matter what was said, Wolf is Championship standard, he's not getting first team games at his club.

They spent £8m on him after a successful loan. He's played 40+ games in the Bundesliga.

Would have been interesting to see him play more games in his actual position. Not really fair to judge him as a wing back. He seemed dangerous in the one game he got to play further forward and allowed to come infield.

I remember him getting joy against Derby full back, but 90% of games he could not beat his full back. I didn't see any qualities to suggest he would be decent attack midfielder. Hard worker, but lacked real technical ability.

I agree a bit like Liard , really didn't produce much in the way of an attacking threat, although he did take his goal well against Cardiff

Can’t see him coming back either, not unless his attempt to get back in to the BMG team fails of course.

Martin's loans have not been great. Loan players in the Championship should be at a higher level than the rest due to being

a) Young Premier league players getting experience or -
b) Premier league quality player recovering from injury.

Williams, Burns were major flops. Liard and Wolf middling and Christie successful.

I'm not too disappointed that he won't be back, really lacked going forward, which was something i expected him to bring.
Didnt have the pace or skill required to be a threat.

I think he would be OK in a number 10 role, but it would still be a big risk.

EDIT

He's not coming anyway.

Jon, you deal in facts. Martin said Wolf wanted to stay, Wolf said he never considered it. In a court of law Jon, what would that mean?

it's hardly a huge leap, it's a statement of fact after comments by both people. One of them isn't telling the truth but apparently it's impossible that it could be Martin. OK.

Lost in translation simple, Wolf was hardly going to say he wanted to leave when he had just returned.

Martin also said how much he and his girlfriend had a happy stay in Swansea.

Russ never tells untruths.
He never lies ;he never has
He is simply the best
We are lucky to entrust our whole club to him for him to make us a proper club.

He might not have actually said he would be trying to turn us into a proper club. It's ok though because our clown fans believe him entirely without question. It is anathema to question him.

It would mean Wolf is a smart footballer, left the door open with us in case Gladbach said not to go bsck. Then when he gets a look in he says I love my current club.

This isn't breaking news and happens with 1000s of footballers every summer.
