People - how can people sit and watch sport and then see it so many different ways?
how can humans be so smart and yet so dumb? In with that is travel, the more I've travelled the more I've realised that while people are so very different we are also so very similar.
History - the more I read the more I realse how badly history was taught in school.
The Universe - the whole size of it thing AND what is there beyond the universe?
Women - on so many differnt levels! they are both an enigma and a joy.
Nature - Ok I guess the universe is in here too but specifically, our planets nature. Not tv nature, being out in it and seeing it live is fascinating. The intelligence and dilligence of ants, the beauty of sea creatures, even the deadly ones. Everybody should scuba at least three times in different places.

I'm fascinated by World War I.
It seems like there are 100 shows/movies/documentaries about WWII for everything done on the first one. And the first one is more interesting to me, partly because the distinction between the "good guys" and the "bad guys" isn't as obvious.

Yes, it's fascinating. It was the first war to be fought with mass produced weapons etc. It was a mobile conflict initially, before getting bogged down , excuse the pun. Nobody know the actual cause of it as there were many factors that brought it about. | | | |

Not sure it’s a simplistic as that. We studied the Bulger killings on the degree. The background behind them, what makes two very kids do what they did ? They didn’t just kill him, they tortured him. The psychological profile behind them was fascinating, to remove him from his mum, then both of them to egg each other on, neither one saying no. The associated events in their backgrounds to get to the stage where something like that could have happened was very rare.
In normal kids, at least one would have stopped it. The extent of what they did isn’t well known. It was horrific.
What makes people attack others after a few beers or kick off at a game of football, or attack someone cos they’re gay ?
I’ve come across two people in 20 years who were purely evil, no emotion, no empathy, one was about 15. Would’ve killed me and not been bothered, he told me so, but said he liked me so wouldn’t. He wasnt trying to be hard, was just stating fact. | | | |
