Swansea were audited in three second half games conceding ten goals in three halves in the last few games of the season.
Martin claimed the team lack athleticism and muscle and could not compete. Some mention of 6 ft 7 in defenders obscured the overall point.
I suspect he has studied these game in detail and made player and tactical adjustments to prevent it happening again. Darling and Wood have replaced Latibeaudiere and Manning as centre backs. Manning a midfielder is not in the first team XI so far in preseasoso that experiment may have been binned. Sorinola adds pace and Fulton adds determination in the midfield along with Allen's experience.
I do not subscribe to the theory that Martin will not adapt. All good managers have to adapt. He has brought in a set piece coach to help the team improve in that aspect and it may include goal kicks. |  |

Having watched Saturdays highlights and Martins post match interview he doesnt seem keen on adapting his system....as he himself admits no other team plays that way.....I keep asking the question that it makes you wonder why other more experienced and successful managers don't use the same?
It will be interesting to see if and how he adapts should the results this season follow those of the last 6 of last season | |

This is an issue that seems to creep in all too often. If it is relationship breakdown then Martin has to approach situations differently. Managing a bunch of ego filled footballers is not a one size fits all.
Has Ogbeta fallen foul of this. What about Piroe last year, has that healed or is he playing to get out? Martin worries me in this area though of course none of us actually knows what goes on behind the scenes. |  |

It's probably why I have a problem with him union.
Almost right from the start,something about his body language and the nuances of his language didnt seem right.
I then recall him describing Paterson as a wonderful person -when he was refusing to play-. Nah,not having that at all.
Fulton has been fit and able to have played when we needed a basic ,solid DM and he was ignored from September.That is not logical or sensible. He could have done a job for us. He played in Prem when whilst we were signing nomarks who,like Ogbeta,will be moved on without them starting one game for us.
