Signing for Forest £25 million, plus £17 million in add ons.

I'd love to know what the add ons are!

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

It's a mad amount of money.

He's a good player but much more is he worth than Piroe?

Gibbs White on 16:33 - Aug 18 with 2303 viewsbuilthjack

They spent £106 million before this one.
They have only clawed £4.5 million back.
A wage bill on top of close on £65 million.

How can they do it?

Swansea stayed up with Danny Graham and Michel Vorm with Steven Caulker and Gylfi Sigurdson on loan.

There is big pressure on Cooper. He was never right for Swansea.

This is before Gibbs White. An overall balance of minus £102M.

You say the wage bill is £65M, I think it is way more, apparently Lingard alone is on £10M for the season.

It will close on £80m or more by the time they have finished. The club have backed Cooper.

That budget illustrates what we are up against if we ever get back to the Prem.

He arrived there 7 games in and had no preseason when they were bottom of the league.....took them to the PL their chairman .thinks he is and as a result is backing him in the hope they will retain their PL status......meanwhile we look forward to midtable obscurity in the Championship ....and no cup run either

If we are lucky.

This summer will have a big say in the future of Forest in a few years down the line.

The club is being run by individuals who have no care for themselves other than personal gain......tjey will walk away from it and leave others to pick up the mess.

There surely has to be a responsibility of care.

Hope, being the correct word, I don't wish bad luck on Forest, but god help if they come back down.

So you want us to spend big?

It is at absolute minimum expected. I expect Martin to sort out the defensive issues with a couple of Cyrus Christie type loan / short term deal signings. He had presence and skill.

Swansea put the boat ut with Latchford, Rajkovic , Colin Irwin Gary stanley and Waddle back in the day and very nearly went bust.

Not at all I was answering the person who posted "hope he is worth it"

Spending big doesnt always get results......we have seen that for ourselves

Ofc he's worth it - he woulda coulda been the difference in Coops getting us promoted in his first term. No doubt. A no-brainer, in so many ways.

Just as Piroe shoulda woulda been the difference had Coops been allowed to get his man the following season.

Trust in Coops, is the mantra - as did Birch, Britton, Tate, Piroe, MO, MGW, RhianB, CGallagher, MGuehi etc etc etc........the list of elite level players is endless.

Again you get your facts wrong Waddle was a fairly low cost investment when we were in the old Third division Waddle was bought along with keeper Geoff Crudginton for £54000 that was the price paid for both the record signing was Colin Irwin £350000 we did go bust but mainly as a result of building the East stand....coupled with the cost of being in tbhe first divisdion with div 2 crowds

Martin has had over 12 months and still cant sort out the defence astoniishing given he was a defender himself!

Wonderful signing.

Some nonsense being spouted in this thread, quite predictably of course. He did make people look rather silly last season having the season he did whilst again spending a pittance.

The owners clearly now want to try and stay there, similar to the Brighton and Potter model.

Someone just said the wage bills is £60m… show me.

“ A wage bill on top of close on £65 million.”

Where have you seen that? I’m highly skeptical if that figure.

I’d be interested to read the source.

Waddle was 3 years before the 1st Div and nearly going bust. General opinion of him was he laid on more balls that Fiona Richmond though.

The fee with add ons is a ridiculous fee for a player with limited premier league appearances.

Even when you know, you never know?

It’s about the going rate for exceptional young British Premier League talent like him.

I would imagine the add ons would be linked to survival over two seasons. If that’s the case and he helps get another £300m income then it’s a drop in the ocean.

Not to mention his potential sell on value.

If we are not bringing anyone in ,why should we be so keen to loan out players and in Bennet's case, simply exclude, even though he is on big money.
