John Hodge would clean this league up. It’s so poor.

Hodgey was probably my first ever favourite Swans player.

He'd be no use to RM though. Too attacking.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Did it turn out that we missed Grimes?

Our passing was too slow and predictable today, we did so much sideways passing we allowed them to get their shape back in front of us.

All this passing is meant to pull a team out of shape and leave gaps for us to exploit, when we are so slow and sideways though, the oppo always get organised. Unless we press forward quickly we find a brick wall in front of us.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Not only did we miss the underrated Grimes we were not hugging the touchlines like we normally do. Just a yard or two narrower and there is less space to exploit space in the middle. Is this why RM had issues with Oko-Flex?

It’s how we play. It’s incredible actually.
Our first instinct is to pass ,anywhere, even in our own box and under pressure

We have the players .

They are being misused and it beggars belief anyone supports this tedious crap .We make poor teams look good

When we play better teams ,like Burnley, it shows where we are .

They are not being misused, they are not good enough or intelligent enough to play a tried and tested system ‘ all the time’ When it works it’s fantastic, as we have seen over the last three games when it doesn’t it’s frustrating.

The coaching team and club have to either address this or recruit in January to increase the opportunity to play in this way. That is if they aren’t happy with the current situation and league position.

You are not happy, I think we know that, it’s in every single post, without exception but offers no answer other than a constant attack on the manager even when we win. Is it too hard to ask for some actual content that explains why, offers some perspective and analysis that’s not totally judgemental ?

Im asking if you have the mindset to offer some detail to your posts. I think in the olden days they called it discussion / debate.

And you say that’s bullying ?

If that is the case your constant referencing of Martin and mentioning people who don’t agree with you is harassment.

How bizarre.

Swansea City disappoint yet again when the three points were there to be taken 6th Nov 2022 08:00
Talk of getting an early lead and going on to winning this game were soon put to bed when Wigan Athletic hit Swansea City twice from set piece corners exposing a total lack of communication in the home sides defence. A lacklustre swans approach even with Oko-Flex starting carried on their first half misery of recent games. Failure to see obvious passes and far too defence minded when two goals down signalled frustration in the crowd and discontent all round. Joel Latibeaudiere was captain for the day and he too seemed slow and ponderous for the first thirty minutes. 0

100% missed him.

You just don't realise until that person isn't there how good/decent they are.........i think this will be a case once Martin goes.

I'm sorry Keith but what tried and tested system....
you are now blaming players when it is the coach who is at fault

most people can see we have reverted to the walking keepball footballing old....it is nothing like the possesion played by Man City and the likes.
Yesterday again we had a young player in Lati a central defender playing as a right wing back sn alien position for him whilst also carrying the captaincy I guess Martinnlovesnhim because he didn't question the nonsensical decisions he takes as a coach with tactics and playing playersnout of position. what was that about putting Oli Cooper on the wing....

That walking football got us back from being 2 down yesterday.

Individual errors without the ball yesterday cost us 3 points......reality is, we need to cut these errors out. Combine the age of the back 3 yesterday and you will glaringly see what Martin is working with.
May I add because I know what you will think after you do the age count, Martin has to get in young to develop hopefully for the teams benefit but mainly to sell on for profit.

We cut those errors out and that possession football gets us 3 points yesterday.

Yes a young back 3 and also Latiwasbeing pushed highbup the pitch as part of our managers tactics

Unfortunately your admiration of Martin makes you blind to what many others see.

The walking football didnt get the draw second half we played with more intensity at times ....

ReD the article Keith just posted we became defensively minded and we were 2 down...
Mist around me were calling the football boring as we watched the ball go sideways and back whilst we sat in our own half....

The likes of John Hodge and Appleby were a different, simpler era, albeit fantastic to watch.

If all wide players had to do these days was hug the touchline, beat their fullback and whip crosses in for two big centre forwards to battle it out with two big centre backs, the likes of Oxo-Flex would be getting 90 minutes every week and we’d have a couple of Torpeys up front.

Montero would have been at a top club.

Not for a second saying John Hodge couldn’t cut it now (even though he mainly played in the fourth tier for us), but he’d have much more responsibility than he did then.

That style you refer to still has a place in the game. Just not at our club seemingly.

The problem with recruiting in January I can see will be that if Martin has full say, he’ll only bring in players to suit his style at the time or in the future. If transfers are forced in him, players which may help play a faster more expansive game, he’ll just not play them.

He’s not taking us forward now and as I’ve said elsewhere, he never will in my opinion.

Of course, he will be here in January and we need to understand that.
