Psychologically this really was a huge blow to Swansea head coach Russell Martin after the stress of a football week involving every layer of the west Wales club. 0 The chameleon returns, click above.

Martins incompetence cost us that game highlighted by his use of the subs..the third sub was a result of his stupid change if formation going to 5 at the back with Oli as a RWB it was obvious it didnt work so he brought on his Darling for Piroe and pushed Oli back up in the middle where he is best yet another example of round pegs in square holes. I admire your support of our manager....

Who’s delighted . I couldn’t read it myself. Is that what it says? If so,we are broken It is grim and very dark indeed. I’m urging Martins fans to accept that

| Swansea City fully exposed both on and off the pitch on 09:01 - Feb 5 with 1600 views | magicdaps10 | Yesterday summed a lot of things up yesterday. Bad choices No decent options from bench An exhausted looking manager and team that needed a major boost Topped off to by a injury and playing with 10 men, an injury in a position that needed a new first teamer signed but now we have been caught short. Also a goalkeeper who came In and ultimately should have saved atleast 2 yesterday and now we have no competition because we didn't do anything in the window. I was looking for a response but ultimately it seems that the issues caused in the window has unfoybtabley contributed to that last night......the energy was sucked out of all involved yesterday. We can't take away from the fact that the substitution situation contributed to the defeat, it was a gamble that came back to bite us..........these things happen in football and will certainly highlight this situation going forward. Blame can't be taken away from the board, Martin and certain individuals on that pitch.........its a combination of things that needs sorting. | |

| Swansea City fully exposed both on and off the pitch on 09:10 - Feb 5 with 1576 views | Dr_Winston | People say "no decent options off the bench" as if Russy doesn't bear some responsibility for that either. We could have had Stevens and Okoflex available if he hadn't utterly ignored them to the point where their parent clubs felt that they had no option but to recall them. Better man management and less histrionic martinetism may have seen other players still available to us too [Post edited 5 Feb 2023 9:10]

With a young defence rather than buy an experienced keeper to help organise things we have someone who looks like an outfield player asked to play goalkeeper. How on earth could Martin make the decision to want to buy him?

I have read it and the so called reaction of some fans on the forum is nonsense. The reaction by some on here is realism, not clapping at failure, but repeating what we have been saying for months. The reaction of those supporters of Martin under any circumstances is classic denial. We will have to agree to disagree yet again.

I think you need to calm down! There is certainly a big issue at the club, seems that issue is far greater than being worried with us sitting mid table in the championship. So yes you are correct, reaction of some fans are over the top regards a team sitting in mid table.........if we were right in the depths of the relegation one then you would have some basis to your concern. People are not clapping failure but more understanding of the reality..........we have some fans who think we are a top 6 team/squad 😬 that is a reality in some people's head!! Let that one sink in.

Martin agrees with those posters who correctly state we have a top 6 side. If people can’t moan at our position in mid table; then why are you moaning about our transfer activity which is above half the teams in this league in both number and money spent. Or do we pick and choose which mediocrity we allow depending on the convenience of who is seen as responsible?

I didn’t think the clapping fans paragraph was aimed at you, but if it hurt, then it hurt, nothing I can do about that. I’ve personally never been a supporter of any man, but without some real evidence someone else is available to turn this around ( we’ve never stated it doesn’t need mending ) then you keep saying he should go and I’ll keep saying for who ?

It appears that you do DrP, you have always stated that a previous manager was let down in January but are defending this recent window......you are as guilty with your claim as anyone.

Where have I said this window was good? You are reading what you want again. This window was poor, sadly. No issues stating that. But the owners are excellent and are putting in more personally sourced money than any other owners in our history. It’s not difficult.

All opinions are welcome That means those who doubt Russ should have the same respect as those who do. We are all upset. It’s typical of men is denial

So getting away from the constant acceptance that you perceive isn’t occuomg here. Let’s talk about the players first, where is the weakness, and the strengths ?

I don’t think there is one person in particular. For a start the players sourced were poor, I was very thankful the Grant signing fell through. Secondly there were clearly failings in terms of setting deadlines to clubs meaning things dragged on too late into the window, which they are going to correct going forward. Thirdly where we are located, not a lot of people want to come here to play on a side underperforming so much, far easier to attract players to a club that is actually performing well. So everyone appears to have played some part in this window.

I agree with the Grant view, not a player that would have suited us but it was certainly a panic one in my opinion. There was a few deals put in place and within the budget set out, players agreed, deal agreed on both parties but not signed of by the yanks......why do you feel they pulled those plugs? I think the vast majority of players will go for the most money regardless of location so I don't fall for the being out the back of beyond.......its an easy out.

“ There was a few deals put in place and within the budget set out, players agreed, deal agreed on both parties but not signed of by the yanks......why do you feel they pulled those plugs?” I don’t believe that happened is the easy answer to that. And I know first hand of players that haven’t wanted to play in another club for more money due to location, manager, prospects - loads of reasons.
