Decent fee and lots of addons. They're not Cat 1 so couldn't just poach him. Ambitious lad who has probably set his career back a few years by going to the PL.

Absolutely appalling way the club have handled this, now this is time for an ‘OHL treated badly’ comment. I bet there’s a million in it though. At least.

This actually happens very rarely at Swansea actually. He is a tremendous goals scorer at u18 level but I think will be found out. Cullen was also prolific.

I have only seen him for two games and was not particularly impressed. He is not fast and not particularly strong. Kyrell Wilson looked much sharper to me. In the half hour he had last Monday he had four good chances, which says something about his movement and instincts. Messed up two hit the post and scored one.

He has the ability to be in the right place at the right time at his level. He is not the second coming. Azeem. Lissah, Congreve, Lloyd and Liam Smith look better prospects to my untrained eye.

The main question for me was how dependent was he on the physical edge he enjoyed in the u18s. Even at 15 he was bigger, stronger and faster than many defenders he faced. His cameos in the u21s last season were encouraging. Always on the shoulder of the last defender, willing runner, decent finisher. But he wasn't fast-tracked up a level full-time like Cotterill and Lloyd were.

From a Wales and sell-on % perspective I hope he does well but the last player they bought from us is now the best goalkeeper in the League of Ireland so not going to lose any sleep over it.

There was a rumour Liam Smith was going out to join Cotterill at Stockport but don't think anything came of it. Doesn't suit him having to play wing back in the u21s. He's an excellent tricky wide striker/winger.

From the OS.

The 17-year-old joins the Bees with the clubs having agreed a compensation figure which represents the largest sum Swansea City has received for a player not on professional terms.

The agreement also includes significant add-ons and a sell-on clause.

He does have something about him Jasper.
His mobility and awareness ( to date ) have been impressive.
I’m pleased we have at least secured a significant sum ( someone said a million 🤷🏻‍♂️ ) and of course the more success he has, the more the Swans get when Brentford are relegated 😉

I hope Brentford get relegated also, they think all of a sudden they are big Billy B@ll @x,

Gutting a young talent felt he should go

Its a strange move to go there, the club who don't really have a proper youth setup.
A good few 100k in the bank for the swans with additional clauses and sell ons. Seems good business to me (very few actually ever make the grade).

I agree.

He should have stayed and played in front of the Jack Army first, like Rodon and Roberts.

“When I spoke to Lee Dykes, Neil (MacFarlane) and Michael (Adesida, head of Academy recruitment) and they gave me a tour. I thought I’d be stupid not to come here and take the opportunity. It’s everything I’ve been asking for.

“I know Fin Stevens came on loan at Swansea and I know a couple of boys who spoke to him and asked him about the club. I heard really good things, seeing them (Brentford) on tv, and they bring through youngsters who are always on the bench. It’s good for young players to know that the manager is willing to give players opportunities which is what you want.”
