Have you decided who your main target is going to be this year yet? That makes it sound like you're thinking about one of the forwards. Idah maybe.

Not yet mate I’m quite looking forward to it s it will be at very least a distraction from issues that I hope you never have to face You’ve been quiet of late and posting interesting material I agree almost 100 % with you on non football matters It’s my seventh decade supporting/ following OUR club WE are still here to do so , many are not .

We all need to take a step backwards sometimes R and realise where football ranks in the priorities of life. Far more important things to get worked up about. That advice applies to me as much as others.

To echo a point I've made in the past, we need to share the goals throughout the team a bit more. Even if Vipi doesn't scale the heights he did last season he should still be capable of 15 goals in the forthcoming campaign if the service is there. Idah has already shown himself capable of getting into double figures with six in mostly cameo appearances for us so far. If two or three of Just/Opuku/Yeo/Walta/Etc can push close to double figures as well then we're not going to be far off IMO. [Post edited 2 Aug 10:06]

Indeed but sports, are if nothing else, a distraction Those that play football professionally are handsomely paid and by and large don’t give a monkeys about anything other than next contract or how much a new colleague is getting It’s beyond ludicrous for fans to “ protect” players honour Fans invariably slag off a player for his ability , attitude or effectiveness I’ve got another care home visit tomorrow with my dog Several males “ support” LFC or Everton and Tranmere and have regalia and artifacts in their rooms Because live games criminally are all pay to watch the alternative is talking about players past and present Nobody should underestimate the efficacy of team attachment because for some , it’s all they have

If he’s going then “ go now” as he will need replacing immediately Let’s get it sorted We have loads of midfielders Few strikers though Pointless creating chances with no end result

Good question, I'd say yesterday football was less important than taking the dog out and more important than painting the garden fence. Today no football, but going with my neighbour to the Gower Show is more important than painting the garden fence. However, my other neighbour has put staining his garden shed above a trip to the Gower Show but he likes rugby. My neighbour who was going to the Gower Show has lost his electricity and finding out what is tripping the consumer unit is for now, more important than the Gower Show. Life is complicated.

If a club offers what we value Vipotnik he will be gone, if not he stays. That is the way we now do business and is 100% correct. The big decision the club will have to make is if the offer comes in late in the window and whether we have a replacement lined up. With the midfielders we now have we should have goals coming from midfield this season, if Vipotnik goes I wouldn't be surprised if our style of play changed completely this season.

First half yesterday with Idah up front hardly a cross was put into the box and we didn’t create much from midfield either ,The slow and ponderous ,sideways and back passing also didn’t help I’m afraid it’s looking like No Zan ,no goals If he stays or goes Needs sorting now

I must admit that this worries me. The friendlies should be demonstrating our style for the forthcoming season but by what you and others have said, not much in our approach has changed.

Hope Idah comes good because he’s been very poor so far. Not surprised Celtic fans were on about driving him down when we signed him. I know he had limited game time due to injury.

I’m with there First half yesterday was hard going, the sideways and back, slow boring stuff was a painful watch ,we got turned over a few times and a better side would’ve punished us Second half was a bit better but we still gave them too much time and space especially out wide where our fullbacks were so far off their players it was criminal Our wingers and any midfielders going wide by contrast were tightly marked and pretty much nullified Plenty to work on but please Vitor ,let’s start playing the ball forward quicker and with purpose or I see another scary start to the season beckoning

Our full backs giving opposition wide men the freedom of the city has been a style of ours for far too long.

Idah has never been a prolific scorer ,he only scored 20 once in a season for Celtic

This has been a problem for quite a while. They also fail to stop crosses.

I fail to see how think "no zan, no goals" based on no crosses or midfield creation yesterday. Had Zan been in the box that wouldn't have changed surely? I don't think Idah can be as prolific as Zan, however, despite an encouraging end to last season I don't think we've seen the best of him yet, and I'm not going to judge any player simply from pre-season friendlies. If he gets a chance of 6-10 games (assuming Vip goes) then we'll really see what he's capable of.

Zan competes with centre halves, drags them out of position and drops for the ball and his lay offs often start attacking moves , I’m not knocking Idah,he tries his best , he’s never been a 9 ,mostly played as a second striker or wider on the left ,Zan can make things happen out of nowhere as we saw last season They are completely different types of players

People seem to forget Vipotnik was excellent last season but very average the season before. I wouldn't write Idah off after one season where he was injured a lot. Idah is a totally different player to Vipotnik and both may still be with us this season, who knows.

Which is why Swansea's valuation of Vipi is quite high, but no one wants to pay it. The fear of paying top whack for a one season wonder haunts them all. Doesn't mean it won't happen, especially near the end of the window when clubs are getting desperate.
