The Rowberry BBC article says it’s a dismissal but I’ve read stronger dismissals. He says all he’s focusing on is winning the next Newport game (which is a dead rubber as he didn’t get them in the play-offs). We’ve sacked Warburton to now go for a mid-table 4th tier manager.
It seems there’s this (shonky perhaps) structure at the club and we’re looking for someone to fit a specific role (head coach rather than manager) even if they’re unproven.

Apparently Scunthorpe played a youth team, which is a bit off if that is the case. "You have to protect the integrity of the competition" as Mr Warburton said two years ago ahead of that West Brom game when Brentford thought we'd play a stiffs team and throw it so they didn't go up...
Edit - just seen this from a Northampton forum - "7 teenagers. An 18 year old captain. A 17 year old keeper making his debut. A 2nd year scholar making his debut. An average age of 19."

Feel sorry for Northampton Town, to win decently 3-1 at Barrow and then find that Scunthorpe youth team get turned over by the exact number of goals required for automatic promotion. No, but I don't like him so... 
I don't think anything could/would be done about the Scunthorpe team selection other than a wrist slap or fine at best, but I'd certainly be very less than impressed if I was a member of the Cobblers management team or executives tonight. 3-1 should have been enough to see them up.
I know we pipped them by a point in the end so its a bit moot, but I daresay we'd have been screaming blue murder if after beating Wednesday 3-1 in 2004 we discovered Bristol City had won 8-1 or something! | | | |
